Having trouble getting sound on my motorola mcs 2000 uhf radio

I have just fitted a second hand motorola uhf radio to my car and have wired both the main unit and headset in. I have power and can change through the the 40 channels but don't seem to have any sound. I'm not sure if a remote speaker is required as I didn't get one with the unit. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What kind Motorola radio is it? and I assumed that you mean main unit and control head. If you don't see an internal speaker in the control head then you need a external speaker hooks up to the back of it.

W do I turn off squelch control on a digitech DC-1065 marine radio hand held 5 Watt

Hi David,

Before I try to give advice, I need more info.

I possess a Digitech DC1065 UHF 80 Channel CB hand held, so there seems to be some confusion here.

I live near Perth, Western Australia.

Firstly, How many channels does your radio have?

If the answer is 80, then what you have is a UHF CB, not a marine band radio.

Marine band is VHF with 87 Channels, in Australia that is, and the default channel is always 16.

Digitech are an Australian radio manufacturer, so you'll get great backup service.

If your radio is not defaulting to Ch16, then I am right about it being a UHF CB.

Therefore, it is useless for VHF anything, let alone Marine band.

I'm almost 100% sure this is a UHF CB in your possession.

Try this to prove me right please.

Reply to me with your Country and nearest city, I'll then be able to find a solution for you real quick, though I believe I already have.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Peter

How can i tell if i have a uhf or vhf motorola cp200

The model number for a VHF radio has a letter K in the position where a UHF radio has a letter R. For example,
AAH50RDC9AA2AN = UHF while
AAH50KDC9AA2AN = VHF

I have an acura 2000 tl and the radio wiring harnes was cut off is there a diagram for this or is there a plug in adaptore so i can use the factory boss system and navigation with a diffrent radio

Hi Alberto,
It will be difficult to purchase just the factory connector for the rear of your stereo and nav system. The best thing to do in this situation is to try and find a second hand radio loom from a car wreckers/junkyard and fit the radio loom in place or have a autoelectrician wire the second hand loom in place.As for the wiring diagram, I do have one but it is in 3 parts and you will need the factory plug to wire the loom into.Let me know how you get on and I will send you the diagram when you require it.

My name is Matt. I have several M-series uhf motorola radios, and I'm having trouble with one of my MU21cv's. when I take the antenna out it sends and receives fine, but when I put an antenna in (that...

First, we recommend you do not press the PTT button with the antenna removed, as it can damage your radio's reference ocsillator (final amplifier). That being said, you have a unique problem which could be caused by a poor connection in the antenna port of the radio. It is possible screwing the antenna on is slightly separating the internal antenna connection from the component board, or you have a hairline crack in the board in that area.

Also, you may want to check the programming of your frequency and PL code. Sometimes in a close proximity radio will work with one another when set to a "near" setting. Never hurts to double check.

Best regards.

I have a GP328 4channel hand held can it be reconfigured to be used as an ordinary uhf two way

It should be capable of being programmed to a "simplex" frequency where you can use the radio simply radio-to-radio. This is a dealer programmable style radio. You would need to visit your local Motorola dealer to have it programmed. As for whether it will do "ordinary UHF", the radio would have to be UHF. This style radio was produced in both VHF and UHF. Your dealer would be able to advise you on which one you have.

Best regards.
