Try unplugging it from power for a while, 10-15 minutes, then plug it back in and try it again. If it still doesnt work then chances are the power supply inside needs repair. The most common problem with LCD tv's is failing capacitors in the power supply, they appear to have power and the standby light comes on but they just refuse to turn on.
Try connecting the TV to a different power outlet. If problem persists, there is defect inside the TV and should be handled only by a qualified service technician.
check the main power switch of the TV, then also check the control buttons on the front panel of the TV maybe one of the button s on the front panel is press (normally close state), or maybe the buttons is defective (maybe the menu button)
Return it where u bought it and get a new tv replacement,tv have power supply board issues. That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Or not possible trade in for another new tv,call Sylvania for warrenty service tv repair fix.

Hello there. I'm sorry to say that it sounds as if the element that actually energizes your screen is bad. It is most likely overheating. or quite poosible the power converter lost a resistor or 2.
NOTE: TV's can kill months after they have been unplugged. Touching the wrong part can give you tens of thousands of volts. This could happen even whilst you are removing the cover.
Most likely is that you have had a power surge and blown an internal fuse.
Unless you are competent with TV repairs, take it to a shop. If it is this it will be cheap.
