Re: toshiba cf27c30

Hi, you only have a setting problem. Go to "Click START, Control Panel,Then click "DISPLAY" When this window opens click settings on top RHS of window. Click "ADVANCED" At the top of this window there will be a dialog box with a setting in it and a drop down to choose another setting. select a setting lower than the one already showing. This will fix your problem. Regards Mistyman

Right here's an idea or three...
1. Uninstall all drivers / software pertaining to Nvidia. Operating system dependant, go to or and search for instance nvidia Quadro Fx4500 driver windows 7 the top three matches should help. Once you find what matches your device best download and install the "new" driver provided the graphics card is plugged in etc etc. run the installation, it should pick up the card and install succesfully. restart system press and hold numpad del button to enter bios dependant on PC model get into bios settings, look around and find where you can set your primary graphics input and set that option that it points to PCIE (the slot the card is in) and not internal. save and exit bios settings completely. provided the screen is plugged in and secure on the graphics card, you should have picture.

2. On the graphics card should be a sticker with model and serial google that serial number and info as it is and follow steps mentioned in point 1.

3. Check power is plugged correctly onto graphics card from power supply. also with S.L.I

4. Possibly the power source in the machine isn't sufficient and should be upgraded at least 500W and up but make sure so as to not cook your machine.

5. The screen (output device) or cable connectors are damaged damaged, replace it.

6. The graphics card and or capacitors on it are cooked. Buy a new one

I find a little programme called GPUz to also be useful adressing some issues.

Hope this helps... Good Luck

The picture is flickering when I am in games!

What about the screen resolution? If you have big screen resolution, try to set it down to 1024X768 and try again to launch game.
Also take a look at that

My backlight keeps going out on toshiba satilite 1800 i suspeci the inverter is loose as when you tap the toshiba logo it stays on for a while so does anyone know how to open this laptop so i can check...

Here is an informative guide on disassembling your laptop.

If you order a new screen assembly from Ebay for it (just search "toshiba 1800 screen") then you could install it using this guide.

I would rate this as intermediate/advanced in terms of difficulty. It's not overly hard, but any messing up might mean you break the ribbon connectors or the screen.

Be careful!

Also, word to the wise: if it is under warranty or even close, call toshiba and plead with them first. Be polite, it goes a long way.

New fx 5500 installed, now viewing screen too big for monitor.

Hi there. You just need to adjust your resolution settings in the Nvidia Control Panel. Just right-click anywhere on the desktop and it should be in the list.

Hope that helps.

either way probly cheaper to buy a new laptop.

alternatively you can just connect a CRT monitor to the monitor out port.

Need help with black screen

Try looking at the back of the TV and ensuring that the incoming cable is in the correct input. If you have audio and video cables make sure they are placed in the same input. What type of cable do you have directv or comcast?

Dear ALEX5555,

If you have warranty for your Toshiba, try to get replacement.

Solder? Yes and No.

Yes: You would have to order a specific chip from a third party manufacturere who deals only with big suppliers and does not sell replacement parts..... you get the picture.

No: Soldering would require a very good technician and the process can be more time consuming and tedious than you want to here. Most techs don't bother. They replace M/Boards.

Suggeston: Take it in for a replacement motherboard with similar at a Laptop repair shop. May only cost $100 or so.

Good luck
