Remove the needle and seat assy and clean out material that stops the needle from doing the job. Check the condition of the needle and replace if necessary. Ensure seat is tight and the float level is adjusted properly.

Installed new Nikki carb. Engine runs as if too lean while spitting and governor pulsing. Air/fuel adj needle has no effect either fully seated or removed. Runs smoothly if choke is roughly 3/4.

Sounds like you have an air leak and all the air/gas going into the engine is not going thru the carb. Remove the carb and re-check everything. Hope this helps.

LA110 only runs with choke

Most likely the Nikki carburetor needing a good ultrasonic cleaning and a carburetor repair installed. It would be best for regular lawnmower repair shop to do this as the Nikki can a pain to get the parts replaced correctly and even the new gaskets can leak sometimes.

I need a diagram for a nikki 498888n carburetor. It goes on a B & S 14.5 h.p. It checks 50 psi pressure

You can get a breakdown of the carburetor on a parts website like partstree.com by entering the model number off the engine, and picking the appropriate type number, and selecting the carburetor and you will get an illustrated parts diagram which includes and exploded view of the carburetor.

I hope this helps you out.

P have a Toro riding mower and found that when I drained the oil it appeared to have gas in it. Last season near the end of the year it would blow a black liquid out the exhaust when it started.

It seems the carburetor is flooding and overflowing into the crankcase. This is a common problem. Need to determine what type of carb. you have: Walbro or Nikki to suggest a fix. Some simply put an in-line shut off valve between the tank and the carb. and turn the fuel "off" when they are not using the mower. You will need to change the oil and oil filter (if you have one). Hope this helps.

Its a briiggs and stratton 16.5 hp model #313777 0112-E1. I'm gettin gas in my oil and am pretty sure float is sunk and it won't start at the moment. The carb bowl spins clockwise and counterclockwise but...

You need to determine if you have a Nikki or Walbro carb. The Nikki bowl is held on by two phillips head screws and the Walbro bowl is secured by either a single bowl nut or a anti-backfire soleniod (two wires going to it). Your problem is probably the seat in the carburetor. We see very few float problems since most of them are plastic.

If you have a Walbro with the anti-backfire solenoid you will need to get a slim 1/2 open end wrenc the access the "flats" on the solenoid to unscrew it.

The brass seat is replaceable in the Walbro along with the needle. If it's a Nikki, you may need to replace the carburetor.

Hope this helps

Nikki carbureter have installed new kit but still floods up and runs rough any suggestions

remove the float bowl cover and set the wet float level. There should have been instructions with the rebuild kit on how to do this. If you don't have experience with carburetors, ask an old mechanic to help.
