My guess is that when you pushed the player into the dash, you pinched a power wire, resulting in a blown fuse. Check the vehicle's fuse box. Most vehicles have at least two fuses that provide power to the radio, though they may not all be labeled as radio fuses. You may need to check all the fuses in the vehicle, including any fuse box under the hood.

How to wire cd player up in 2000 chevrolet malibu

I just discovered there are wiring harness adapters as I used one on my car to install a new cd player recently. I found this one on the internet not sure if it is the same car you have.
http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=71-1858
then you can buy a harness adapter from this adapter to the make of cd player like as an example Kenwood Cd player adapter.

A car auto store may know about these wiring harness adapters the advantage of using them is it makes it easy to install the cd player and if you ever decide to change the cd player in the future you can buy the adapter suited to the future player and plug it into the malibu car wiring adapter as the car adapter converts the factory wiring into a universal wiring standard.

A tip
make sure the radio and cd player works and the climate control work properly before completely re assembling the dash board .
I forgot the aerial cable plug !

I used Aeropro brand of wiring harness for my car that I got from
Car Accessory store in my country . I had to cut one wire and connect it to Pontrol to get my power aerial to work correctly. Which the store salesman helped me work out which wire controlled the cars power aerial

Radio will not go off

Hi Steve, I'm glad to help! I'm assuming you installed the CD Player and now it stays on. Most CD Players have 2 power wires, sometimes only 1. If your only has one then you have your power wire connected to a wire on the vehicle that stays hot with the key in the off position. Here's what you do to find the wire you need. Take a test light and place it on a fuse in the fuse block, then turn the key off and if the test light turns off thats where you want to connect the power wire for the CD Player. Then when you turn the key off the CD Player will go off also. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Steve.

Cd player INOP. Fuses check normal. all other electronics ok

this could be your CD player itself, or the power getting to it. If you have installed the player after-market, then there is a possibility that the power cord has come unplugged, or a wire splice on the wiring harness has disconnected ... check the player itself, and the wiring harness that it attaches to. There is also a small fuse on the CD player itself (usually on the back of the player near the power cord)... if this has blown out, replacing it should fix the problem. If it is plugged in, and the fuses are fine on the car's fuse box and on the CD player itself, the you might have a short in the wiring between the fuse box and the player's wiring harness. If this is the case, you can run a bypass to the CD player's power, or you can take it to a professional to have the problem diagnosed. If you are not experienced with installing car audio components, I recommend the professional assistance -- with the car in front of them, they can run more tests and tell you if it is the CD player or something else.

I need to know how to install a cd player in my 1997 jeep wrangler sport.

My suggestion would be to buy a wiring harness and a dash mounting kit. After that unscrew or pull out the console/dash part thats around your factory deck. Then unscrew the bolts/screws holding the factory one in place. Remove it. Plug the wiring harness into the factory wire plug. Pull harness wires through the mounting kit. Attach the corresponding colored wires from the harness to your new deck. Slide your deck into the mounting kit and secure it in place. Most decks have little prongs that you can pry up to **** up against the mounting kit so it wont slide out without pushing those down (makes it more secure and harder to steal). Place deck with mounting kit into area factory deck was. Put the screws/bolts back into place tightly. Place console/dash part back on. You will need the mounting kit (99% of new decks are smaller than the factory). Wiring harness is optional but recommended.

Wiring diagram

First, goto a store and buy a snap in wire harness and a mounting kit. There are wire diagrams in the packaging. Wire your wire harness into the radios wire harness (everything is color coded). Follow the intructions to install the mounting kit. It should tell you what screws to remove from your dash and so forth. Just remeber were everything goes. Next, after you remove the old radio, snap in you wire harness to the cars wire harness. Then, test the radio to see if it powers up and all speakers are working. Lastly, put you radio in your dash, and put everything back togeather. The number one rule in installation is take your time. If you rush, you will brake something.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.
