Removing internal hard drive & Using Ineo external hard disk encl

The mother board of my Alienware PC is not working. I need to take the internal hard drive out of the tower pc and ''install'' it in the Ineo external hard disk enclosure (I-NIA302)? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

What good will that do you? Once a hard drive is removed for a computer unless it is installed in exactly the same model computer it will not run the OS or be able to be read by windows. I must be missing or misunderstanding something here.

I am not clear on exactly what you are asking. If the motherboard is not working, it wont really matter where your hard drive is.

What is the difference between a external hard

External hard drives contain a power supply to operate a standard hard drive in a case. It usually connects to a USB port. Usb drives get their power from the wire that connects it to the USB port A regular internal hard drive gets it's power from the computer's power supply wiring. The data cable is either a flat ribbon cable or a 6 pin cable that connects directly to the mother board.

Hit start Alienware computer goest to alien head on screen then straight to sleep mode. Please read

When you say computer clock do you mean the LED read out on the mother board? if so the numbers you are seeing are error codes you will need the mother board manual to know what those codes mean. If you don't have the manual it's possible you can go to the mother board manufacturers web site and download one then you can look up the codes to see what the problems are. Hope this helps

My alienware fx not working after i totally fotmated hard drive

You must re-install the operating system you had on before. By formatting the drive you even deleted the operating system.
If you had windows on it before, you will need a windows installation disk. If you don't have a disk you can purchase one from microsoft.
Put the disk in the drive and reboot your computer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to re-install windows

My hard external hard drive is not detected by any pc I plug it into it powers up (gives noises and light) but it's not being detected please help thanks

Try using a different usb cord. If the device is still not working properly after that there may be an issue with the circuit board that attaches to the drive in the enclosure. If this may be the case you can purchase an new enclosure for the drive that comes with a new board for a reasonable cost. If you have a ide or sata to usb connector you may be be able to remove the hard drive from its enclosure and retrieve any data you may have stored on it. Here is a video I located on the web on retrieving your data. A few steps are unecessary if you have to ide to usb connector you will not need to disassemble your pc.

External no longer recognized

Right click My Computer, Properties, then click on Device Manager.
Select Disk Drives then on tab menu Action, Add legacy hardware. Go through the setup and use CD's that came with Hard Drive otherwise search company site for drivers.

Drive case flashes

The first thing you need to do is figure out if it is the Hard Drive itself or the enclosure.
The best way to do that is remove it from the enclosure & test it either in a PC directly or in another enclosure. If it works, then you can test the enclosure by inserting another Hard Drive & testing it. This should tell you which component is bad.
