Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White

1 Answer

Es510 Hi there, I put my Frigidaire Professional Series Ceramic top oven into Maxx Clean mode and then the power went out in my house. When it came back on, there's a little red lock symbol on the display and the cooktop does not work and the digital display for the elements read "- -". When we hold the lock button down to unlock the cooktop all it does is unlock and lock the oven door.

Hello KC - You may try and reset the cook top by disconnecting the power to the unit for up to 30 seconds by flipping the circuit breaker off and back on. This often clears most false error codes. If the lock symbol does not clear, then the unit more than likely may be experiencing an issue with the EOC (Electronic Oven Control), user interface board or a potential wiring failure. This is not a typicaly do it yourself job; please consult a professional or your manufacturer.

SOURCE: Self cleaning oven won't lock

Generally
There is a motor that lets the latch slide out and catch the door either this latch motor isn't getting power from the board or the motor is bad. You will have to need a volt meter and a wire diagram, and take the covers off to see the motor and board.

Always remove power until you get the item open and can see whats going on before reapplying power.
If you don't feel confident I recommend calling in a repair man.

SOURCE: my stainless frigidaire professional series

F1 is an EOC (electronic oven control) failure. The control is expensive. But before you go and buy this board, you need to find a diagram to see of this model oven lock is controlled by the EOC or by a micro switch. If you have a lock button on the board the you have to replace the EOC.

My frigidaire gallery series oven made a popping noise while heating up dinner in oven and now the whole oven is not working

Hello jnjpelli - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart the unit. If the oven does not turned on, then more than likely there seems to be a power supply issue. Also try checking the breaker and the power connections located on the back of the range. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues
