When i press and hold the trip knob to fix the timing belt light nothing happens. What should i do?

If your timing belt symbol is on then its mileage controlled and trying to tell you something. Get the belt changed and the garage will reset the light. If the belt has just been changed then get the light reset.

Time belt lamp 4 runner 1995

This light is to advise you that it is due for replacement. If its been done earlier the interval may not have been reset. Any dealer or someone with vehicle diagnostics gear should be able to reset it.
