Determine the exact numbers on the back of the watch and list any and all writing on the front as well. With out that, it's shiny piece of metal to most of us. Usually, however, that brand is a department store type product. It'll run anywhere from 100-200 bucks. Sometimes more, sometimes less. More info means more accuracy. A pic or vid won't help unless someone had that exact piece and remembers what it cost them, way back when.

SOURCE: Guess Watch's stop watch is broken?

it's not broken.

let's call the top stopwatch button "a" and the bottom stopwatch button "b." eg, for normal stop watch function press "a" to start timing, press "a" to stop timing, and press "b" to reset.

to reset: press button "a" and "b" simultaneously and release (an easy way to do this is press and hold down "b" then press "a" and release both). this will send both hands spinning. next press "a" intermittently until the second-hand is back to it's desired reset location. then, likewise, press "b" intermittently until the minute hand is zeroed. now with both hands at the correct reset location, again press and release "a" and "b" simultaneously to save these resets and return the watch to normal function mode.

I've not worn my watch in 7 years. I did not think it had a battery. It charged from movement. I tried to wear 2 days and still it does not work.

It probably needs a good cleaning and lubrication. This can be done at any watch repair shop, even the ones they have in Sears department stores, if you have no specialty shops in your are.

I received my suunto t3d black watch yesterday and accidentally set the contrast too high and it saved. I've tried everything but can't seem to find the setting to fix it. I've even removed the...

To reset contrast on the sunnuto t3d hold down all 4 corner buttons at once, this will place the watch in sleep mode. Wait a few seconds and press any button to wake the watch back up. This will allow you to run through the inital set up just like when you got your watch, alot of your info will be saved so you can just quickly confirm them with the mode button. I also set my contrast too high, I have reset it to 3 and found it much easier to read in all lighting.

I own a watch from Daniel Jean Richard, given to me about 5 years ago. Mother of pearl face and surrounded by 49 diamonds. I want to sell it and have contacted DJR in Switzerland and France to know more...

The best place to sell could be eBay. You can put up your own price or let the auction run. Do not be afraid to give the numbers, because without that particular watch they have no use at all. If you want to get proper estimate - visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for detailed information. They must be able to assist you with that.

What type of battery does the Fossil Ch2473 use? I called Fossil and they could not help me, instead they insisted I pay them $15 to replace the battery and wait 2-4 weeks for shipping. However, I...

The vast majority of Fossil analog wristwatches take either a #377 or #379 watch battery. The #379, being slightly smaller, is somewhat more commonly found in women's watches than in men's watches, but I have seen both types used in men's and women's watches alike. However, the Fossil CH2473 includes chronograph functions, which means that you can have multiple motors inside the watch running simultaneously. As a result, it's possible that this watch will require a different / bigger bigger. However, if it's not one of these batteries, or even if it takes a 3-volt lithium battery instead of a 1.5 volt watch battery, it will still be something pretty mundane.

In general, common batteries like the type I expect you'll find inside your watch are commonly found at many drug stores, jewelry store counters at places like Walmart and Target, and even at some dollar stores. Be aware that cheap dollar store batteries are usually alkaline, not silver oxide, versions of the same size battery. Alkaline batteries may work perfectly well in many watches, but they have a somewhat different energy performance curve over time, and, in general, they won't last quite as long as a comparable silver oxide battery. In addition, for reasons I've never been able to figure out, some of the Fossil watches that I've serviced would not function with an alkaline battery--but would work fine when I put in a silver oxide battery of the same size and voltage. I have not been able to see a pattern to predict when this will and will not occur. Lithium batteries, whether "brand name" or generic, should have the same performance curve.

If you do open up your watch to change the battery and don't recognize the battery type/code on your battery, don't give up. Watch batteries have different numbering schemes, depending on the manufacturer. Here's a link to a cross-reference chart that will help you "translate" one code into another. I would suggest starting by looking at the #377 line to see if one of those cross-reference codes matches what you have. However, you may need to look around the chart to get an exact match:,,id,,75

As a final thought, the backs of some Fossil watches are very snugly fitted to their cases. You can generally get them off without too much of a problem, but there's a good chance you may need a jeweler's press to get them to snap back on properly. I've noticed this most with round watch backs; I generally haven't needed a press to close oblong or tonneau-shaped Fossil watches (or some round watches, too). A jeweler's press spreads the pressure evenly around the edges of the watch back and watch case, preventing damaging pressure on the watch crystal, watch movement, and watch back. Clamping the watch in a regular vise to try to press on the back runs a high risk of damaging your watch, and I do not recommend trying that, no matter how frustrated you get. It's much safer (and cheaper, overall) to tip someone with a vise a couple of dollars to close up your watch for you.

I have a casio f-91w, and i would like to know how to turn on the hourly chime.. please help.. thank you.. peter.

I've never used one of these watches, but after looking online, I think this is how it's done:

Try using the top-left button to cycle through the settings, and use the button on the right to change them. So I'd imagine that after pressing the top-left button enough times, the indicator for the hourly beep will start to blink. At that point, press the rightmost button.

The indicator on the face of the watch should light up to indicate that the hourly chime is enabled.
