Question about Dryers
It was working fine - a cycle had just about finished when I grabbed a piece of clothing out. The rest of the load was done, so I took it all out & put the next one in. When I hit start, all I got was 3 beeps. Nothing is making it start now! I let it rest, powered off, overnight; I have tried using something to activate the lock mechanism (while the door is open), and that didn't work; i even tried to spin the barrel and then quickly press start - also didn't work. Would like to know what it is - even if so I can at least tell the repair man!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.
To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.
I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.
I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Try opening the door, spin the drum by hand, then qi\uickly close& press start. If this works, then the capacitor has failed. About $30, easy to replace.

Check to see if you can spin the drum fairly easy. Also, try to leave the door open, hold the door switch in, and then start the dryer and give the drum a spin to see if it starts.
