Stands for "Service Set Identifier." An SSID is a unique ID that consists of 32 characters and is used for naming wireless networks. When multiple wireless networks overlap in a certain location, SSIDs make sure that data gets sent to the correct destination.

My WII is saying unable to find access point please confirm SSID. What does that mean

Dear Friend,
First, you need to identified you wireless name from your wireless modem such as "HOME-229". Then after identifying the right SSID (service set identifier), enter the name in your WII follow by the right password out of your Wireless Modem. Also, make sure that your SSID in your wireless modem is broadcasting and not hiding. Some devices will simple not access online if the SSID is not broadcasting.

Good Luck!

What is an ssid mean

SSID Stands for "Service Set Identifier." An SSID is a unique ID that consists of 32 characters and is used for naming wireless networks. When multiple wireless networks overlap in a certain location, SSIDs make sure that data gets sent to the correct destination.
The SSID is different than the name that is assigned to a wireless router. For example, the administrator of a wireless network may set the name of the router, or base station, to "Office." This will be the name that users see when browsing available wireless networks, but the SSID is a different 32 character string that ensures the network name is different from other nearby networks.
Each packet sent over a wireless network includes the SSID, which ensures that the data being sent over the air arrives at the correct location. Without service set identifiers, sending and receiving data in a location with multiple wireless networks would be chaotic and unpredictable to say the least.

Whats ssid mean.

Hi

SSID- Service Set Identifier

An SSID is the name of a wireless local area network (WLAN). All wireless devices on a WLAN must employ the same SSID in order to communicate with each other. The SSID on wireless clients can be set either manually, by entering the SSID into the client network settings, or automatically, by leaving the SSID unspecified or blank. A network administrator often uses a public SSID, that is set on the access point and broadcast to all wireless devices in range. Some newer wireless access points disable the automatic SSID broadcast feature in an attempt to improve network security.
SSIDs are case sensitive text strings. The SSID is a sequence of alphanumeric characters (letters or numbers). SSIDs have a maximum length of 32 characters.

I am trying to connect to netflix thru my wii and t says that the ssid code is wrong and i don't know what to do.

If by SSID code they mean the name of your home network double check that you are indeed typing it in correctly, as it will be case sensitive (make sure caps lock is not on). If they mean your SSID password (encryption key) then double check by logging onto your router that you are typing the correct passphrase. If you have another computer you can usually log in to the router's setup/management by going to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.16.0.1. This works on most routers. From there you would want to view the "security" tab or something along those lines and check to see
what your SSID is and/or what the security passphrase / encryption key is.

Huh?

Or, do you mean that you need to use the buttons and the LCD panel on the HP printer to specify the "new" SSID?
