I put some old gas in my truck then drove it a while it was fine . the next morning it would not crank . it would turn over but sound like it was binding up . so i put some gas in coberater and it started up . it run rough for a litte pit then it cleared up and run good put there is a pinging noise coming from passenger side vale cover . what could it be?
after that the tempeture gauge was not moving much so i put new themostat and now it runs about 180 degrees . now after it warms up it is like it losses power and misses a little.
before puting in thermostat it ran fine and plenty of power put just had pinking noise.after that the tempeture gauge was not moving much so i put new themostat and now it runs about 180 degrees . now after it warms up it is like it losses power and misses a little.

180 degrees is kind of cold.... the bogging and missing might be because your engine coolant temp sensor sees that your engine is cold and constantly trying to warm it up by dumping more gas and essentially flooding your engine. This sounds familiar I will check into this and get back to you here in a bit!180 degrees is kind of cold.... the bogging and missing might be because your engine coolant temp sensor sees that your engine is cold and constantly trying to warm it up by dumping more gas and essentially flooding your engine. does it speed up or get louder when you rev your engine or does it stay constant?does it speed up or get louder when you rev your engine or does it stay constant?
Hmm ok can go into more detail the sound of the pinging for me please? Is it high pitched, sharp, flat, fast or slow, etc. etc. Hmm ok can go into more detail the sound of the pinging for me please? Is it high pitched, sharp, flat, fast or slow, etc. etc.
Well the roughness is more than likely because the old gas was starting to turn to varnish. My question however, is do you have hydraulic or solid lifters?Well the roughness is more than likely because the old gas was starting to turn to varnish. Old gas turns to varnish which can cause the valves to seize in the valve guide, bend push rods or even bend the valves themselves.NEVER put old gas in an internal combustion engine.

Since it is an older vehicle, check under the dash for any "rigging" that might have been done over the years. Start at the battery and follow all electrical wires that lead into the dashboard and fuse panels and check for any frayed or split lines that might be causing you to have a short circuit somewhere. that's what it sounds like to me. Unless you have a huge sound system with some 15" woofers in the trunk you shouldn't be experiencing any power shortages.
There is a service bulletin on this for some Chevy trucks, may include your model of car. I would check with Chevy to be sure. The code means the computer has received a reading from the throttle position sensor that is out of range and not what it should be. The throttle actuator control module would need to be tested to proceed.
First thing i would check is your ckp and cmp sensors if those are good check you MAF sensor ....If when your car didnt crank the 2nd time was there any sound like a cliking or anything...if there was no sound ........I would check the starter
