I got that error when my IDE to USB cable went bad. Although it could also be bad/corrupt drivers. Can you put the drive on an IDE cable to check it inside a computer without the USB?

The error says "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x (a series of numbers that change), Thread id=0x (numbers that change). Click OK to terminate the applica

did you add any new hardware or software just before this error started. If this is a Windows PC you can go into the safe mode and remove the bad software. You can also (if you can) remove or disable the hardware. Reboot into the PC as normal and see if you are still getting the error.

Im getting error 8001050f

If error is for playstation then this is what I found on the web. You can click on link below and see all same problems for this. If you find this information helpful, pls rate me.

http://www.giantbomb.com/playstation-3/60-35/anyone-else-getting-error-8001050f/35-391633/

This error is connected with Playstation hardware ID conflicts connecting to official sony servers.

Formatting will not fix this. Essentually if you're getting this a lot you may need a replacement PS3.

The problem consists of multiple playstations with the same hardware ID as yours is trying to connect to the same server, the server notices the duplication and cuts both off.

There is no local fix available for this problem. Contact sony for more information.

Edit: Sorry guys, this is the usual error, the one you're all experiencing at the moment is Sony's xxxx.

Good Luck.....

Check to see if the cover arm broke off or has missed the lever that makes it operate when you drop the cover down if this does not do it Let me know I will see if I can find anything else but that's all I can think of at the moment, get back to me if that does not fix it and I will see what I can find for you, do the simple first. Thanks for using fix-ya

Try changing the autoloader SCSI ID and the tape drive SCSI ID at the front panel:

Use this option to view or change the SCSI IDs used by the autoloader. The autoloader occupies two SCSI
IDs, one ID is assigned to the autoloader and the second ID is assigned to the tape drive.
The default SCSI ID for the autoloader's SCSI controller is 0. The default SCSI ID for the tape drive is 5.
You only need to change a SCSI ID if there is another device, or devices, already assigned to these IDs.
NOTE: This option is primarily used if the autoloader is in an error state. However, any
backups that have not been verified as complete should be considered lost.
NOTE: If you changed the SCSI ID, you may also need to cycle power on the host
system and reconfigure your backup software before you can use the
autoloader. Consult your hardware and software manuals for more information.
