Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a demo unit and it's doing the same exact thing. I found solutions indicating to disable 802.11d under options/regulatory, but even after I did that, I still get the timeout.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I reset my network connections for my ipod touch then i deleted my pinger textfree app and it still won't let me log in

If its not letting you log into your WiFi the power cycle your Wireless Router (take out power for 10 seconds, put back in power) and then try and connect again.

If that doesn't work, restart your iPod.
Last and least, this will most likely be the issue (Rather Common) - Update the Wireless Routers firmware to a recent version.
