Welltris on Win8

I can't get Welltris to run on Win8 in any mode. Tried DOSBox but it is too slow an can't find parameters to make it work? I'd prefer to run in in/on Win8 directly but if I have to use something like DOSBox could you tell me what parameters to use? Thanks Mike

As I have been advised to add more detail; this problem really has 2 parts. The first is, how can I make Welltris run directly on Win8 ? The second is; I can get Welltris to run using DisBox but I do not know how to set the parameters for Welltris. Playing it as DosBox installs is very very slow. Too slow to use. So can someone tell me how to set the parameters and what values to use. Thanks

SOURCE: How to Run Turbo Pascal Full Screen mode on Windows 7

Now that's a program I've not worked with in a while ;-) I haven't used it since my early high school days in the 1990s. Turbo is a really old application that has been around for ages- unfortunately, being as such, it is only capable of developing 16-bit DOS applications, which has, for better or worse, gone the way of the dinosaur. In the x64-bit versions of Windows Vista and 7, all 16-bit native support has actually gone out the window in favor of 32-bit and 64-bit application development. This is why DosBox was invented- it is a true 16-bit DOS environment (much like command.com and CMD.exe used to be) that is capable of running all the older DOS programs that are no longer compatible with Windows.
When you run Turbo from the DOSbox program, press ALT-ENTER and it will fullscreen whatever you're working with.
Hope this helps,
- Vern

Virtual karts in dosbox keeps showing sound config screen

Erik,

Thank you for asking me directly to help you with your problem. However, either the question you are asking is not within my area of expertise (I am an automotive repair technician), or the question is incomplete and does not contain enough information for me to help you.

Is there a driver/file available that makes cyberia2 of microsoft work on windows 7? When trying to start the game it says no support f full screen mode and if run under dos it wont run eighter. Pls...

If it's a DOS based game (which I believe it is based on what I'm reading), you'll need to install a DOS emulator. I believe DosBox http://www.dosbox.com/ is popular, but there are a few others if you search around.

1. How to install and run turbo C++ 4.5 on Windows 7 (32)? 2. How to run Turbo C++ 3 on Windows 7 in full-screen mode?

I had similar issues with an old version of Turbo Pascal.
I used a program called DOSBox which emulates the older machines the packages were designed for.
http://www.dosbox.com/
It worked very well including full screen.

I have a copy of starcon 3 but it won't install on my computer my os is windows 7 but it says that the game isn't compatable with my version of windows

Hi, welcome to Fixya. I hope my info helps you.
What it said is true. Starcon 3 is an OLD game, with compatability with win 95, and DOS. I think there may be a way for you to get to work though, right click on the installer program, and put the program in compatability mode, and tell it win 95 for the o.s. If that doesn't work, then download a program called DOSBOX, and run the installer with it, Dosbox is designed for just this sort of thing.
I hope that you do get it to work, as Starcon 3 was a really good game when it came out.

How to run turboc in full screen in windows vista ultimate

Windows Vista And above doest not support full screen command window.. In order to run dos programs in full screen mode u can you use dosbox emulator which will be more convenient. Note that if you use pointers in your program it may not wok under vista directly.. If u run under the dosbox emulation it will work fine.. You can download dosbox from http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Other-Programming-Files/DOSBox.shtml
