Question about Epson FX 890 Matrix Printer

Cannot configure printer

Configuration manager does not see the printer in xp

    the configuration manager software does not work. when i make a change and save it then click update printer the program hangs up. then i have to use the task manager to end it.I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it 6 times and even downloaded it from epson's site and installed it. I have turned off all running software and tried to run it in safe mode but the driver wasn't loaded in safe mode. I even tried the compatability mode with no success.

When you install your drivers and your software to make your printer work with your computer the software is responsible to make this happen for you. You may need to uninstall this software restart your computer and printer then reinstall your software again

Wireless Zero Configuration is a Windows service on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 that is used to configure and manage wireless network connections on a wireless adapter. The service name for Wireless Zero Configuration is WZCSVC. On Windows XP, the display name for the WZCSVC service is Wireless Zero Configuration. On Windows Server 2003, the display name for the WZCSVC service is Wireless Configuration.
The Wireless Zero Configuration service is normally started at boot time. The programming interface for the Wireless Zero Configuration service can be used only if the Wireless Zero Configuration service has been started. If the Wireless Zero Configuration service is not started, then the Wireless Zero Configuration functions will return an error.
To enable the Wireless Zero Configuration service so it starts up automatically, go to the Start button. Select the Settings option and then select Control Panel. If you are using the Windows XP view, select the Performance and Maintenance category and then select Administrative Tools. If you are using the Classic View, then select Administrative Tools. Click the Services icon in the left pane. Click the Wireless Zero Configuration icon in the right pane and change the Startup Type dropbox to Automatic. This setting will set the service to start automatically at boot time. Then click the Start button to start the Wireless Zero Wireless Zero Configuration service and click the OK button.
The Wireless Zero Configuration can also be started and stopped from a command prompt. To start the Wireless Zero Configuration, run the following command:

net stop wzcsvc

Method 1
  • Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
  • Navigate to the following branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System
  • In the right-pane, delete the value named DisableTaskMgr
  • Close Regedit.exe
Method 2: Using Group Policy Editor - for Windows XP Professional
  • Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
  • Navigate to this branch:
User Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options / Remove Task Manager
  • Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
  • Set the policy to Not Configured.

Cant access wireless network
Wireless zero configuration is the feature of Windows XP that allows Windows to detect the available wireless networks and automatically connect to the most preferred wireless network.

It is enabled by the Wireless Zero Configuration service in Windows XP. It provides auto wireless network detection when you switch on the computer.
Follow the steps below to verify that the service is running:
1. Go to Start and right click My Computer. Select and click Manage.
2. Computer Management window will appear. Under Services and Applications, select Services.
3. Check for the service Wireless Zero Configuration. Make sure that it is started and that the startup type is set to automatic.
computer-management.jpg4. If it isn't, double-click the service. If the startup type is not set to automatic, click on the dropdown arrow and and change it to automatic. Click OK at last.

- The network adapter does not appear as a wireless network adapter in Network Connections. It appears as a LAN adapter, similar to an Ethernet connection.
- The properties of the wireless connection do not have a Wireless Networks tab.
- You do not receive a Windows XP notification bar message indicating that wireless networks are available.
To get the most out of your Windows XP wireless experience, you should contact wireless adapter manufacturer to obtain the latest version of the drivers that support this XP feature.
If not, you must manually configure wireless network settings using the configuration software supplied with the wireless network adapter.

I have F5D7234-4V1 with insight internet connection and i have win-xp laptop , ERROR MESSAGE - (windows cannot configured wireless ) tell me what to do - But unable to start WZC on my computer
If you want to use Windows Wireless Zero Configuration to manage the wireless network, you will need to have Windows XP with service pack 2 as a minimum.

With Windows XP and SP2, you will need a Microsoft update for WPA2 that can be obtained from:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893357/en-us

After installation you will need to use the Windows Zero Config wireless configuration in the control panel to configure the adapter. WPA2 should now be available and work correctly.

Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista offer support for WPA2 without additional updates.

XP Cannot able to print on Epson LX 300+
This is XP's parallel port problem

try changing the settings:
find: Start Button, Control panel, System
Device Manager, then Ports !

Change the settings for LPT1 to enable
Detection of Legacy Plug and Play devices

Windows configuration zero
To get to the Windows Zero Configuration settings in Windows XP:
Right click on My Computer>>Manage>>Double click on Services & Applications>>Applications.
Scroll down and right click on Windows Zero Configuration>>Properties. Make sure your start up type is Automatic and that the Service Status is Started. I hope this helps!

you have to configure the buttons, go to control panel>game controllers and yours should be listed, click on it and select properties, then you follow the button set up wizard, click ok, then it's configured.
