Question about Computers & Internet
Buttons came off, won't go back on. Clip shows the type of computer (Acer Aspire 5738ZG) and its clips.
Hi Clay. You can replace your keys. They will have a hinge and it looks like yours has a suction cup, most have a clip. I have included a video link for you at laptop keys.com you choose your computer and they have the video. I suggest a magnifying glass or I have a use one anyway. Good luck. http://www.laptopkey.com/

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Bios Password Reset
The only idea I have is to find and disconnect the CMOS back-up battery after removing main battery and unplugging the AC adapter. That SHOULD clear the bios completely, wiping out the password, the date, and everything else.
I know this works on desktops, and most laptops, but no promises, and the cmos battery may not be easy to access.
You should probably leave the battery unhooked for at least 1-2 minutes to be sure it clears.
Hope this is some assistance!

If the internal restore partition is still on the drive then you can either hold down the Alt button and keep pressing the F10 button as soon as you turn on the laptop or if that doesn't work then you'll need the original restore cd's to the laptop.
If you can't do neither then the next best thing is to get either a windows xp or windows vista cd and install it, then install the drivers that windows can't pick up and also install any applications that you want on the laptop.

It sounds like the battery charging ac cable might be faulty.. You might want to go to a local shop and see if they could try another cable before you go out and spend money on a new one. They usually will try a cable to see if that's the problem.. Please let me know if this washelpful and if it solved the problem and good luck..
