The frequency reference circuits have a problem. You cannot likely fix it yourself.

I'm getting a error message that says, "ERR 99".

Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....

Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Thanks

Canon Image Class D860 - Error message E003. How do we correct?

Under service mode ( MENU and # ) find CLEAR, and select ERR ( if you cant find err, select ALL ), and OK.
Restart machine.
If that does not help change the whole fixing assy.

E003 means that you have temperature problems in fixing assy.
If clear does not help, that means that you have bad thermistor or fixing ceramics.

How do i get rid of er2 message on realistic htx404

This is taken from an in-store Rad Shark memo concerning the HTX-202.

ER1 indicates an internal RAM error. It appears when the memory backup battery is dead, when something has caused the memory contents to become corrupt, or as a result of physical or static electric shock. To clear this error, turn off the unit. Then turn it back on while holding down the "function" and "D" buttons. This clears the memory. If the error returns after you clear the memory, service is required.

ER2 indicates a PLL unlock. The radio gives this error if the PLL alignment is off or if the transmitted signal interferes with the internal PLL frequency. This error has been reported most frequently when using the supplied "rubber ducky" antenna with either a high-power battery pack or with an external DC source.

According to the memo, the fix for this is to use an external antenna when using external DC power.
