I am not getting any sound with my sega genesis system.
I won this used on ebay.

Thank you very much for your advice. You were spot-on!!!!
Right after I posted my message I unplugged the s-video RF
switch cable and plugged it in more firm and it worked just fine.

try "wiggling" the video cable about, occasionally they get damaged and the wires come loose inside
