I have a 4"x6" pilar candle never worked right.Put in new batteries each week. "Old" ones covered with flakes of battery acid. Cleaned contacts with vinegar -no help. Any ideas? Thanks

to clean acid leaks you use baking soda or sodium bi-carbonate in water solution then clean of with fresh water
vinegar is an acid and acid will not neutralize acid so it will come back when dry
as for the rest it is possible that the soldered joints for the wires are affected and may have to be resoldered or the copper in the wires has also corroded away.

My battery is leaked my camera is not working want to eject casset out of it tried connecting charger but didnt helped

A leaky battery is not good news. First, the "stuff" that leaks from a battery is acid. It will burn clothing and your eyes if it comes in contact with them. Wash you hands completely before touching your clothes or rubbing your eyes after touching the battery acid!

Next, the acid is conductive. This means wherever it has spilled, it is like a copper wire. If the spill is across the charging terminals, it acts like a dead short circuit. This conductive path radically changes the circuit(s) and will have to be eliminated before going further.

To have hope of this device working again, the acid will need to be thoroughly cleaned / removed The acid is usually a heavy fluid or gel (depending on the battery type) and can be cleaned with solution of baking soda and water applied & scrubbed with q-tip. Baking soda neutralizes the acid and the water help dissolve the dried-on acid. You'll need to exercise care to not let the solution get on / in electronic components. If the acid has entered some of the electronics - and isn't merely topical - you may have success restoring functionality to the device.

Wipe away excess solution and allow to dry. Power up and try again. Good luck!

Camera fails to acknowledge memory card

Try cleaning SD card connectors with clean rag, and blow some dust out of a SD card connecting place, if it doesnt work try checking that SD card on some other camera, if it works take your camera to service, if SD card doesnt work on othar camera than SD card is broken.

Magellan gps 315 battery leaked and will not power up. what could be wrong

The acid from the leaking battery most likely shorted out the circuit board. You can trying cleaning of the acid spill with a little alcohol on a Q tip. The batteries are probably also no good and you will need to replace them also. If this does not work you can try taking the unit apart and cleaning any further acid that has leaked to the inside. Thanks for using FixYa

My sister gave my daughter her daughter's Butterscotch horse. When we started to put new batteries in, the old batteries were still in and battery acid leaked all in the battery pack. Is there a way to...

It all depends on the severity of the corrosion, but I have started with denatured alcohol and an acid brush. Do this over a plastic disposable cup. Let this dry and then try baking soda and water solution and see if it will cut the corrosion. I have Contact cleaner that I use then, if you have some where you can get that done. I use De-ox-it and again with a clean acid brush work it in.

Smell of rotten eggs, and smoke coming from under neath the battery on the drivers side.

Disconnect the battery and remove it...WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING!! The battery sounds like it is leaking acid and, as such, needs to be replaced ASAP! Once you pull the battery out of the car, only set it down on a surface that will not erode from the acid. If the battery is indeed leaking, you will see the corrosion where the battery was eating away the metal. This will need to be cleaned and neutralized before anything else can happen, if the battery is leaking.

I do think your battery is leaking; sulfuric acid smells like rotten eggs and the smoke is from the acid eating the metal it is coming into contact with.

Battery acid--remote

No problem using it -- just clean it first. Coke or Pepsi (applied with a cotton swab) will neutralize the battery acid, and you can follow that by rinsing with a cotton swab dipped in clean water. Dry the insides of the remote thoroughly before you insert new batteries. If there's corrosion on the battery contacts inside the remote, it can be removed by rubbing with a dry cloth, wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper.

Problem with taking picture with SD card

The only thing I can recommend is using the brands of memory cards that Casio recommends. They are Panasonic, San Disc, Toshiba. Make sure the card is formatted with the camera before use.
