Bought this thing 3 weeks ago. Iriver Clix (gen 1) Just got the cradle in today but now the player itself won't work.
The power button will not turn it on. If i hit the reset button, it powers on, goes to the main screen for about 3 seconds the immediately shuts down. For the three seconds it is on Main Screen (you know "MUSIC, PICTURES, VIDEO", screen) the controls do respond at all. The batter is fully charged.
When hooked up to the computer via USB it will not register at all. Earlier today it was charging fine.
Never dropped or anything like that. Am I not doing something right.
Does Iriver have a customer or technical support hot line or email.
Yes i river has got customer support in online
but i don t know how efficient it is
if you had brought it from india , you better contact the vndor and ask for its warranty support man
give a try connect the i river to another computer with windows xp (i prefer)
and then install the software bundled up with your device and try to format the device via the software and then disconnect the device and power it on
it will work i think

I am sorry to hear that your Iriver Clix Gen 2 4 gb video player recieves enormous amounts of static that makes it unaudible after a couple minutes.
I see that you have eliminated one of the factors of static by upgrading the firmware, but unfortunately the firmware is only related to booting up, and loading your movies/music.
If the static is coming from the speakers, you may not be able to fix it, unless you open up your Iriver Clix, which I recommend you not do, due to that it will void your warranty. The Static may be caused due to excessive geforce or impact to your device, causing the wire's to be loose. If the static is coming from the speakers, I would recommend you to return it to the manufactuer or return it back to the store.
If the static is coming from the 3.5 mm plug, try a different pair of headphones or earbuds, make sure it is fully plugged in, I would also recommend you to return back to the manufacturer, or return it back to the store.
u will see the side with the screen has an attachment on it. on the other end of the clix there is a rectangular thing that looks just like it. now carefully plug the screen back into it and snap your clix back together. plug it into any charger and PRESTO fixed screen
if it didnt work then your screen is cracked and must be sent back to the company. they do it for free though.
My understanding, as a new user, is that IRiver plus 3 only communicates with the player via UMS mode, which is not the default. Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player only communicate through MTP mode. If you change from MTP (the default) to UMS, it will reformat the player and delete all your files.
In other words, do not use iriver plus 3 unless that is the only software that you want to use. Boing back to MTP mode after a sync or download will then delete all THOSE files you just downloaded.
you may have got a warranty card with the box? fill it out and send it to the address of the company. if not then you probably don't have a warranty. ask the person who you bought it from if they have the reciept or whatever and get them to send it you. sort something out with them
battery. if you are charging it and it won't hold the charge perhaps you just need another battery. the worst thing it could be is the motherboard. i would try sending it in to see what the problem is.
