If you do not want to go through the guide, here is a quick instruction on how to insert the ink cartridge.
Remove and Install Cartridges
Be sure you have your replacement cartridges
before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after
removing the old ones.
not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink.
Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.
If an ink cartridge is low or
expended, you see a message on the WorkForce 310 Series LCD
screen indicating which color to replace. Press OK
If you're replacing a
cartridge before you see a message on the WorkForce 310 Series LCD
screen, press the Copy
button, press Menu
to select Maintenance
and press OK
. Then select Ink
and press OK

take the used
cartridge apart or try to refill it.
ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink
gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Keep ink
cartridges out of the reach of children.
open the new cartridge package, shake it four or five times. Then remove
not touch the green chip on the front of the cartridge. This can damage
the ink cartridge.
