SOURCE: Change the code on a garage door transmitter?

There is a "learn" button on the garage door opener unit itself that you press before entering a code on the outside transmitter. This allows the receiver to learn a new code. The button is on the rear end of the housing near the terminals where the inside operation pushbutton connects.
Here's a link to programming instructions for a compatible unit by another manufacturer:

SOURCE: Programming kepad for Sears Craftsman Garagedoor opener 1/2 hp

The only procedure I have ever followed is to press the learn button and then enter the code, and not do anything else. I think your last step of holding the button until the light goes out is clearing codes as fast as you enter them. Just stop after you enter your code and let the learn mode time out on its own. That should do it.

And don't put your head through the wall. It just causes more headaches.

SOURCE: Resetting a keypad for a garage door opener.

simple , i was a sears installer for 10 years installing garage door openers so your in luck , just locate the smart button on the machine ,it would be on the back or if your looking from the back at the back ,it could also be on the right side depending on if the machine is a sideways mounted machine or frontmount, after locating this button which maybe green/orange /or purple in color also depending on your model ,the newest sears machines are purple buttons ,and 5 years ago they were orange and the older ones would be green ,...ok so after you,ve located it just push it once and you will see a solid yellow indicator light come on , now go over to the keypad and put your 4 digit personal code in after that press the enter button AND HOLD IT for around 3 seconds , at that time you will see the lightbulbs on the machine go off and then click back on , and THAT,S IT! plain and simple , now go proramm your remote! hope i was of help to you , and if i was leave me a nice rating Sincerely Glenn mayer

SOURCE: I have LiftMaster garage door model 41A3039 and

To program the keypad, first unplug the garage door opener from the electrical outlet. Next remove the nameplate from the console that the keypad plugs into and locate the program/operate switch. Flip the switch to program. Next enter your desired four-digit PIN number into the keypad. Slide the switch back to operate and plug the garage door opener back in. The keypad should be programmed.

We just installed a cratsman garage door opener yesterday. Today, our neighbors opener is also opening our door. What can we do to fix this?

Inside the remote as will as on the opener you will see small "dip" switches. These set the code for your garage door opener. The both (on the remote and the opener) switches need to match each other.
The reason this is happening because many people just leave the "default" code from the factory, and well....you see the results.

Most newer opener have a rolling code technology that goes away with these type of issues making it much more secure.

I hope that helps,
Magoo

Older model keyless will not open new craftsman garage opener.

inside or on the back of the opener motor housing or sometimes on a remote receiver (an external box connected to the motor unit and a push button) is a set of switches ... if you take your opener apart you should also see a set of switches ... those have to be set the same way as the opener ... thats the code select ... make sure the battery is ok .. you can check with sears to see if your older remote is compatable ..

Door opener remotes not opening garage door.

You have to sync the remotes to the new code. For older remotes, you can open the remote and match the pin settings.

For newer remotes there's a button that you push in the back of the opener that sets in program mode (for Chamberlain). When you push the remote button, it will acknowledge the remote is programmed.

If this doesn't help, comment back on your particular model and we'll help you with the solution.
