It's likely a blown fuse or TCO (aka thermal cutout / thermostat).
Yours should have a "mini-manual" (technical sheet) hidden either behind the grille or control panel. It's very helpful in locating and testing components.
There is a video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Accessing some components (especially the oven cavity thermostat) for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall and take off the outer cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

GE JEM25GY Spacemaker died. No lights and won't turn on. Power from recepticle is OK. Shall I just buy a new one. Probably had this one for at 15 years. Thanks

Most of the time it is the failure of one of the three door interlock switches. It also takes the fuse out when they fail. Not an expensive repair. I would say $15 plus labor.

I have GE Spacemaker microwave JVM1740DM 1CC. It suddenly stopped heating up. Everything else works fine and there is no loud noise or anything.

hello, the problem is that a fuse has blow up, the is a large fuse inside a white box, or sometimes without the box, see it carefully and you see that it says something like 5000 volts or 8000 volts or 5 kva, you will see that is burned, by a new one and put it. I have done it several times. good work, dont need to go to the repairman.

My GE Spacemaker 2.0 over the counter microwave just died. No lights or anything.

Hi, It sounds like the internal fuse blew. To get to it, the case has to come off the unit and its located close to where the power cord ties in. With any and all microwaves, It is a good idea to put a surge protector on the plug to plug microwave into. Hope this helps.

I've replaced the fuse three times in my GE over the counter microwave. The clock, timer, lights work, but when I put something in the oven to heat, it immediately blows the new fuse. Is there something...

NO, MW can be LEATHAL.. If a fuse is blowing that means that you have a Phase to Earth fault BAD. In all likelihood the mangnetron is failing, or perhaps even the Power Supply is faulty. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man.
Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.Yes they are right.

Where are the fuses located? The microwave just died, no power, lights, anything. There is power to the outlet though.

you have to remove the vent grill at top. take out the screw above your control panel. fuse should be in a housing behind panel. if not you have to remove mw wrapper to expose all componets

The vent fan and surface light do not work

1. Check your circuit breaker for this m/w. Reset it.
2. Microwaves usually have 20A fuse inside. It could be broken.
