My mower stopped working. can an electric mower be repaired?

depends on the fault
if it is a battery unit then the battery may need replacing or the terminals cleaned or bushes in the motor replaced
if electric power cord operation , could be the start/ run capacitor, broken cord, faulty switch
best you take it to an accredited service agent and have the problem properly diagnosed before making a decision

by trying to start it so many times sounds like you blew the fuse. your problem sounds like it started with a bad solenoid.take it off and test. if it is bad replace it. put a new fuse in and it should start as it is supposed to.

Engine cut out when it was turning over and now when i try starting it i have nothing when i turn the key i put jump leads on the battery from my car but still nothing

Paul:

I would disconnect the positive lead terminal from the battery on the mower, then follow the positive lead to the starter solenoid. Check the connection there for security (is it clean and tight?). Then the connections on the starter... disconnect, clean and tighten them. remove the terminal from the negative battery pole, and remove the ground cable from the frame of the machine, clean the terminal and the point where the negative cable contacts the frame of the machine... do the same for each battery terminal and cable terminal. Connect the negative battery terminal last. Your problems should be solved.

Correct wiring of the solenoid on a victa 3012tx we replaced the solenoid and now theres no power to ignition

Is the replacement solinoid identical to the one you had originally. If the one you had was a three wire (two big terminals and one small terminal) then it grounded thru the body of the solinoid to the mower. So if you used a standard replacement four wire (two big and two small terminals) you will need to run a jumper wire from one of the small terminals to ground (good electrical connection to the frame). The ground wire can usually just run from the little terminal to a bolt that is mounting the solinoid.

The big terminals are the main contacts that allow power from the battery to go to the starter. The small terminals are control power switched by the key and allowed by the safety switches to energize the solinoid coil to pull in the main contacts.

If it is wired properly, and it still does not run, remember to check your safeties, ie. the blades disengaged.

My son removed the batteries from our Earthwise 24 volt mower. We got replacement batteries and need to put them in but need a wiring diagram or instructions to put the wires back in the correct terminals.

The red and blue posts are jumpered on the right side if you are looking from the front. (There is just a wire connecting these two terminals)

The other red post has red and turquoise wires. The other blue post has white, blue and black wires going to it.
Sometimes easier to find solutions under Homelite brand. Exact same mower.

Engine clicks but will not start. battery is fully charged.

Check for corroded terminals between the battery and starter, including at the start switch, Disconnect the battery and follow the wires, making sure that each terminal and connector is shiny and bright, Clean terminals with a fine sandpaper or emery board. Re-connect the battery and try. Please re-post if this problem persists.

Best regards,

Mower won't start. Makes clicking noise.

Check the battery terminal connections for cleanliness and that they are free of corrosion. If the contact is corroded, this is what the clicking would be from.
The battery could be charged, but if the connection is dirty, the power won't be able to engage the solenoid properly.
Hope this helps.

Mower will run if jump started and continue to run but when turned off and back on will not start until jumped again.Meter does not show mower is charging

The battery needs to be checked. If its running with jump start this indicates that mower is fine but the battery is not supporting it for normal start. In some cases the battery has low charge so getting the battery charged helps. In some cases the battery is dead so battery needs to be replaced. And in some cases the battery is new ,its charged but actually the terminals from the battery gets rusted and do not get connected so this leads the problem. So check the battery,if its low on charge get it charged,if its not getting charged then replace the battery ,if its charged and new then clean its terminals and reconnect and check. But if battery is properly charged and connected properly ,then also you see the same problem then its fault in the starter and starter solenoid. It needs to be checked and replaced.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I have a toro 8-25 rear engine rider model 56172 serial # 8008773, I need a wiring diagram for my mower. It is messed up,and some *@#$%+&* mess it up before I got it. I received a diagram for a 7-25 and it...

None of the numbers you supplied match any info on the toro.com web site. Check the numbers and then see if toro has any info for you.

That said, it sounds like you connected to the wrong relay terminal. Here is how you want it connected:
The battery (and alternator) connect to one of the large terminals on the relay. The starter connects to the other large terminal. The start switch connects to the small terminal on the relay. The idea being that the small current connected to the small terminal turns on the relay which connects the large battery current to the starter.

Obviously there is more to the wiring than just that, but you didn't ask about the rest...

Have new proper batt.Have new starter celenoid, new

Remove spark plug and attempt to crank. If it turns faster (without compression) it may be valve adjustment. If it still turns over slowly with plug out check battery ground for tightness to mower body. If the ground is good check the starter by removing battery and atttaching jumper cables to pos and neg battery terminals first, then the pos jumper to starter terminal (where red wire attaches). Then touch the neg jumper to a good engine ground (I use shroud bolt). Be careful as this last connection will cause some arcing. If it still cranks slowly with the plug out, it is probably the starter.
