Try admin or just hit enter. If not remove the battery from the mother board for 5 minutes and see whether it helps. If you haven't entered a password on BIOS there shouldn't be any problem. Also try deleting if you have any other users accounts on the system.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: f10 function key has password i didn't set ?

Since this came to me as a desktop question I will give you that set of instructions. you will need to power off the machine and unplug it. Remove the side panel of the computer (or top panel depending on the model). When you look at the motherboard you will see a CR2032 battery that powers the BIOS chip to allow it to retain it's settings such as password, date, and time. There may also be a jumper on the board (a little plastic square with copper in it) to reset the BIOS. You will be looking in the same general area of the battery for this jumper and it should be labeled CMOS or Reset.
If the jumper is present you will need to use it to reset the BIOS. If using the jumper doesn't reset the password then you will need to remove the Battery I previously mentioned and let the computer sit without power or battery for several minutes.
If this still does not remove your password (or if you would like to try this first) you can try to use a manufacturer override password. On a Compaq system the override should be Compaq. That does have a capitals C and the password is case sensitive.
Best of luck!

If you set your machine back to eMachines factory settings, it might help you for a short while but if you don't have effective virus protection your problems will return in short order.

You should get rid of this virus with an effective virus remover.

You can run Bitdefender's free online scan which doesn't need to be downloaded http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

If you know when you got the virus, you can do a system restore to a time before the virus was on your system. This article tells you how to run it from safe mode http://bertk.mvps.org/html/safemode.html

Your best protection in general is a complete internet security suite such as Bitdefender or Norton internet security 2009.

If you need to totally rebuild your system and you don't have a recovery disk, contact eMachines to get one.

You might also try a Windows repair install if you have the operating system disk. Follow the directions here for XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepa...

Need to reset my ipod touch to factory settings

1. Plug your iPod 4G into your computer with its dock connector USB cable.
2. Install the most recent version of iTunes and open iTunes. Wait a moment for your iPod to appear in the side bar.
3. Click on your iPod in the side bar and select "Restore." A pop-up window will ask if you're sure you want to clear your iPod and restore to factory settings. Click "Continue" and enter your password, if prompted.
4. Leave the iPod untouched and on a flat surface while it restores to original settings. It's important that you don't try to disconnect or use the iPod while it's restoring. You'll see a progress bar either on the iPod or your computer that indicates how far along the process is.
5. Select your new syncing settings (automatic sync or manual) when prompted after the restore is complete.

I was tring to put it in , but stil show power on password need help

If there is a 'power on' password that means that the computer has a 'boot password' set in the BIOS. You will need to press either F2, Del, ESC, or, rarely, another key to enter the BIOS on computer startup and remove the boot password.
If you do not know the BIOS or boot passwords then there isn't too much you can do other than flashing the BIOS which may, or may not, reset the CMOS settings back to the factory default.

I have a ZX4931-31e gateway all-in-one. i did a system restore back to factory settings. when it rebooted i was asked to log in and i don't know what the reset administrator password is? i tried...

Have you tried a blank password for the administrator. Just press enter when administrator pops up. If that does not work, try administrator. That should solve your problem.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Locked out of my blackberry curve 8520 smartphone

If you are locked out you can enter the wrong password several times and the phone will restore to factory settings. The downside to this is you lose everything unless you used the backberry server and saved!
