Question about Dewalt Saws

Open Question

Dewalt dw 323

The quick blade release chuck does not hold the blades very secure and they keep coming out during operation. I have had the chuck changed twice and am still having the problem. Can you tell me how to stop this.

The quick change chuck works by pulling up on a knob on the top front of the handle and turning cw or ccw to either secure or release the blade. But when I put the blade in to secure it, it will not get tight enough to keep the blade in during operation. And if I keep tightning on the knob it breaks parts inside and I have to replace the chuck assembly. Is there a retrofit for this or any way anyone knows to correct this problem. The saw is now 10 years old and practically brand new becase I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you Jim Gustafson

SOURCE: change blade

depending on how new the saw is there are only 2 ways to change out the blade. the older saws have a allen head screw that you must loosen or remove to take te blade off. this screw is located on the shaft at the top of the blade. shed some light on it and look for a slot above the guide.the screw will be either on the right side or the left side. Newer models will have a quick release on one side or the other,it will look like a little lever, you just flip it out with your thumb the old blade drops out then you install the new blade flip it back and your back in business.

SOURCE: change blade 1587 Bosch avs

are you using the "T" shank blades and also are you loosening the spindle enough to allow the blade to turn, sometimes you have to push up a little to turn it and also pull away from the roller guide. Let me know and also there is a TINY spring in the top of the spindle that has a nasty habit of breaking and winding around itself not allowing proper operation.

A piece of a broken blade is stuck here the blade fits into the saw (Dewalt DW 303m). How do I get it out?

Craig, a drop of penetrate oil and you will just have to work at it with ice pick.small screwdriver, or needle nose pliers if you can, make sure you have blade release depressed while trying to pry blade shank out. Once you get it moving it will fall out. Clean and blow out blade port before inserting another blade.

Replace blade on dewalt dw 733

The DW733 has 2 blades which can be sharpened. However, to replace the blades:

1. Remove handle
2. Remove cover
3. Remove screws that hold binder to the blade.
4. Lift out blade, be careful not to cut yourself, extremely sharp
5. Replace in reverse order

Hope that helps.

How do I replace the blade on a dewalt xrp cordless jigsaw? I see no release lever or anything that allow the chuck to accept and hold the blade

Using the following link, you can enter your product model number in the Find Parts field and download the manual in PDF format. Information for the DC330K is on page 2 of its manual, if that's the model you have.

Reciprocating saw problems cannot get broken blade out of chuck

Hi,
Getting a broken blade our of the sawzall chuck can be difficult and require some ingenuity and patience...
Sometimes there be enough blade left so that you can grab it with a needle nose pliers... othertimes it is flush and that makes it more difficult... holding the chuck in the release position and rapping the saw against a table or with a hammer can jiggle the piece out....of course you have the chuck pointed down while you do that...
Also moving the piece around a bit with a stiff wire and also soaking the chuck and blade with WD-40 helps also....
Usually it will take a combination of these things and some persistance to get the job done...

Want a operating manual for saw zall 6523-21....blade broke in saw....want to know how to get broked blade out of saw

I believe that one has the quick release chuck, right? The one where you rotate the outer ring to release the blade? I would turn it to the release position with it pointing towards the floor and tap on the side of the chuck with a screwdriver handle or small hammer. (you may need help with this due to lack of extra hands, and of course, unplug it first.) Good Luck.
