SOURCE: my ipod touch, the old kind, wont slide to open :(

if you try connecting it to itunes and then go to the ipod category, you should see a button down the bottom of the page saying "factory reset" or something of that equivelant. This will wipe your ipod and then you can just sinc. the songs from your library. If this doesn't work it could be something wrong with your hardware and contact apple to see if u can get a refund/replacement.

SOURCE: My Ipod touch 16G first generation. wont respond

1. Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
2. Open iTunes and sync the iPod as normal.
3. Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it.

How do i fix my ipod touch if my bottom screen wont slide and the top part will slide bc i cant get into my ipod

Well, if you put it in a freezer at all, I wouldn't expect it to even function properly... ever.

But regardless, you can try pressing harder. If it still doesn't work, the digitizer might not be recognizing the bottom half of the screen from sustaining too much damage.

I dropped my iphone 3g and cracked the screen....I replaced the screen and now the bottom half won't says slide to unlock...and it won't slide...but the top that says slide to turn off...

Check the 2 pins connected on the home button if touch the interface of the board, might not hitting that is why the slide unlock not working.

Ipod screen won't slide to unlock

Sounds like the bottom half of your digitizer is bad. You'll need to replace it for the sliding mechanism to work.

Cant unlock my ipod

What generation? What do you mean, the slide to unlock, or the screen lock? If you mean the screen lock, you should connect to iTunes, because some iPods unlock after connecting to iTunes. Otherwise you should reset it with iTunes. But then all your data will be lost. Otherwise you should try try try. You've got 10000 chances ;-) If you have an iPod Touch, you might mean the slide to unlock screen is frozen. I had that one time, after trying out spoken feedback. After that it locked the screen and the touch screen wouldn't work anymore. I couldn't do anything anymore, not unlocking, not turning off spoken feedback, not even turn off the iPod. I was lucky to find there was an update for the iPod so iTunes turned it off. Then it responded also again.
More details next time please!

IPod Touch, 1st gen, "slide to unlock" broken

If you jailbreak ( there is an app on cydia that will change it to tap to unlock rather than slide so it should be more sensitive.
