Question about Dell 1410X DLP projector 2700 ANSI lumens XGA (1024 x 768) 43 with 2 years Advanced Exchang Projector
Even after replacing the lamp, I'm still seing multiple yellow / white spots (kind of like "stars") on the screen. Since the lamp was already failing I replaced it, but the problem continues. Any idea?
Are they sharp and defined, or 'blob'-like? If they are sharp, that would indicate a faulty DLP block (not worth repairing, unless under-warranty.) If they're more 'blob'-like, it's probably just dust in the optical block. That can usually be remedied by removing the lamp, and blowing-out the unit with an air compressor. Canned air won't do the job, as there's not enough pressure.
