Automatic Restart? Are you trying to Start Automatic Restart or Stop Automatic Restart?

If you have having boot problems and the system keeps restarting, then turn off the computer, then hit the power button and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Scroll down past Safe Mode and you will see an option to DISABLE AUTOMATIC RESTART. Take the Disable Automatic Restart option.

System is taking long time to boot so,i restarted by pressing the power button .then, after that it is restarting again and again.

Hi

not knowing what make and model laptop you have you could try this

turn offf laptop
restart laptop pressing the F8 key a few times until it takes you into the repair options
then you could try some of the options
i would try this one first of all

last known good configuration
click on it and windows will restart and try to take it back to when it worked ok

failing that
you could try the restore option and restore back to when it was all working good

good luck

My HP 550 laptop appears to load up but the screen is blank.

remove the adapter from the laptop, take out the batteries...and in this state press and ghold down the power key on the laptop for 25-30 seconds. This will drain out all the static electricity accumulated on the board.
Restart the PC
Still if remove the media in your CD, DVD, or floppy drive and then restart the computer.
Restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, press the F8 key while Windows is starting.
Select Start Up repair & the PC restarts by itself.
If start up repair does not work again go to the safe mode and select LKGC from there.
Should be working.

I want to restart or reset my laptop. how?

Hi,

Few steps to restart you laptop, I would suggest not to restart often since it will degrade the hardware resource.
  • Determine what operating system it uses. Finding out what operating system your laptop uses will let you know what key combo (such as "Ctrl+Alt+Delete") can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown.
  • Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up.
  • Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.
  • Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately.
  • Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually.
Else Try:

Windows start > there's a small arrow(pointing RIGHT) in the left bottom > click it and u will get ALL the Power House Options there at your Click(sleep, hibernate, shut down,RESTART,....)

My ibm laptop battery ran all the way down. now it won,t restart

I assume you have put the battery on charge for a while first and you are trying to restart it with mains power connected.

Try removing the battery (disconnect power first) Then reconnect power and try restart.

If that does not work you have a hardware fault.

If it does work without the battery, the battery is faulty and will need to be replaced.

My headphone port is not working in my acer aspire5710z laptop. when pin is inserted in the port, still then the inbuilt speakers are playing, not the headphones or external speakers.

Do the following:

Turn off the laptop, unplug power cord and remove the battery.

Put back laptop together, and restart the laptop with headphone jack in. Restart the laptop with headphone in twice.

Third time , while laptop is on, unplug the headphones and restart laptop again.

This will usually fix the headphone problem on Acer laptops.

Pressing and holding the power button will shut down your computer. Then you can restart it. You can also tell the computer to restart with the restart command but that does not alway work depending on the problem.
