Go to > CONTROL PANEL>MOUSE> DEVICE PROPERTIES> SCROLL FUNCTION> Tick mark the Vertical and Horizontal Scrolling> APPLY>OK. Hope this will resolve the issue. If this is not helped, try re-installing the pointing device driver from HP support. Here is the link for all drivers and utilities
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=4057944&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=
Select your operating system from the drop down menu before downloading drivers. re-install the driver and follow the above mentioned step and restart your notebook.
If you think this could help, please write a review.
Thanks

The driver is available for download on HP's Support website. Just download the software and run the program and that should fix your problem.

The touch mouse will scroll and move but won't click.

you might have to reset it
Most modern laptops with touchpads offer vertical scrolling, horizontal scrolling or both. These features are located along the right-hand and bottom edges of the touchpad, respectively, and are activated when you swipe your finger along the touchpad edge. Scrolling functionality is nearly always enabled by default, but some users find the feature an annoyance and elect to turn it off. In most cases you can simply turn the feature back on using the Windows Control Panel.

Click the Windows Start button, select "Settings," and then click "Control Panel." Double-click the icon labeled "Mouse." Select the Touchpad properties tab. The labeling of this tab varies, depending on your computer manufacturer, operating system version and the device drivers installed on your machine. Common labels include "Touch Pad," "Device Settings" and "Dell Touchpad." If you do not see this option, you may not be able to turn on scrolling for your laptop; skip the remaining steps and refer to the "Warnings" section below. Click the "Settings" button within the Touchpad Properties menu and look for the section labeled "Scrolling Settings" or similar. Enable scrolling within this section and define other scroll settings, such as scroll zone width and scrolling speed. Click "OK" to confirm your changes, and then close the Control Panel windows opened in the previous steps. The scrollbar on your laptop is now enabled.
Scroll Is Not Working With Windows 7 b> Certain computer touchpads have a vertical section on the pad itself that is used to scroll through the page or program window that you are currently viewing on your computer. If the scroll functionality suddenly stops working but the actual touchpad is still fine, this means that the part of the software for the device that controls the ability to use the scroll has been disabled. You can enable it again in the Control Panel.
Click "Start." Click "Control Panel." Click "Mouse." Select the "Enable Scroll" option (or whatever similarly named option is available on your specific model of laptop computer). Click "Apply." The scroll bar on your touchpad will now work again.

My laptop is an HP dv6000 and all of a sudden the scroll button on my touchpad doesn't work. The touchpad is still working, it's only the scroll button that doesn't work. What should I do??? Please help....

Go to the device manager and look up the mouse. When you open it, there should be a tab at the top that says device settings. Click on this tab, it is for the touchpad. Go through the settings for the touchpad and make sure that scrolling is enabled.

Mouse or touchpad not working

Hi,

add an external mouse/keyboard to fix the onboard fault.
check the device manager for any yellow exclamation marks. as there may be a faulty or corrupt. keyboard/mouse touchpad driver.
other option, is to add remove touchpad drivers, and re-install.
finally, you could check if the settings are correct in the bios.

Thankyou For Using Fixya.

Touchpad.

Click start>Control Panel>Mouse
You will see a window of Mouse Properties. Click the last tab on the top which is "Device Settings"
Highlight the SYNAPTICS Touchpad and click SETTINGS
Select the VIRTUAL SCROLLING
You will find the options as "Vertical and Horizantal"
If they are unchecked that you need to check them.
If they are already checked, than uncheck them and Apply the settings.
Again open the same window and Check the two options and save the settings.
It should work now.

If this does no work that you will have to reinstall the Drivers for the Touchpad.

I am sure that this would help. Please let me know what happens.

Please rate the solution.

All The Best.

Scrolling button on touchpad not working?

SCROLL PAD SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME!!!

Well what I did was I went to CONTROL PANEL, went to the HARDWARE AND DEVICES, went to the DEVICE MANAGER which has a list of Devices. I found the MOUSE DEVICE on the list, right clicked it went to PROPERTIES go to the DRIVER TAB, and then click on ROLL BACK DRIVER. Restart your computer. and then repeat everything again. CONTROL PANEL>DEVICES>MOUSE>PROPERTIES>DRIVER TAB when u get back to the driver tab of your mouse device. click on UPDATE DRIVER. It will then find the driver automatically reinstall it for you and then restart your computer. HOPE this fixes your scroll pad. It did for me.
