LOL, you're up the creek. Never buy a computer that does not have a CD Drive on it because that is what you need now. May the AC Adapter Power Cord is bad. Some of them have a indicator light on them when you plug them in the wall. Does yours have a light on it and does it light up? When you plug the power cord in the tablet do you see any lights?
Here are a few pointers I have for you when gaming on the new iPad:
Turn down your screen brightness.
This is the best way for you to avoid heating issues. Your new iPad
probably came out of the box with brightness turned all the way up. If
you turn that down you will notice a decrease in heat immediately.
Use Wi-Fi instead of 4G LTE whenever possible.
Now obviously you can't do this everywhere, but whenever possible you
should access the internet via Wi-Fi and avoid riding your 4G LTE chip.
That baby is power hungry and will heat up quick.
Give your A5X chip a break.
In less technical terms, try not to play graphics heavy games (like
Infinity Blade) for an extended period of time. Like you said in your
question, that's when you experience the most heat discomfort. If it is
at all possible for you to take even a short break (like 10 minutes
every hour) from gaming, it should do a lot to keep the heat down.
I am having the same problem with the mid7120. I bought two for my boys for Xmas. The appslib worked the day before Christmas. On Christmas day, I noticed their site was under maintenance. Now it says my device is not compatible on one and says to reset the date to June 20,2010 on the other.
