Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard 4 dis...
After completing a recent cycle, the clean light wouldn't go off even after opening the door. And now that I want to wash a new load, it won't respond. I've tried hitting the cancel button without any success. Any suggestions?

-   I have a Kenmore Ultrawash Quietguard 4 and it has a flashing clean light and at the moment will not re-initiate. It will not accept new commands to clean.-

-   I have similar problem and have replaced the circuit board twice ($150 each). Now they think it is the touch pad ($200 plus labor). This is doubling the cost of my dishwasher!

I have the same problem. I called the repair guy and he told me how to do a diagnostic check on it to clear the problem out and let it run a cycle to see if it fixes itself. That cleared my problem with the light but unfortunately didn't fix my problem. Press the heated dry button, then press the normal wash button. Press the heated dry button again and press the normal wash button again. Then let it do its thing. If all the lights go out and it does not run a complete cycle, then press normal wash and start to see if it will run the cycle. To speed up the test cycle, he said you can press Start several times slowly to get it to go to the next cycle one at a time. You will see the red lights change from sensing to washing to drying and so on until it goes to clean. Then try to wash some dishes and see if it works. If that didn't solve the problem, he said it could be that there is food or other items stuck in the bottom and needs to be cleaned out. Just remove the spray arm on the back and top of the dishwasher by the 2 screws and take it out of the dishwasher. Then remove the screws at the bottom and take the screen out to get to the tray at the bottom to see if there is food stuck in there. Pay attention to how you took it apart though, so you can put it back properly. Also check the spray arm and run water through it to remove anything that might be stuck in it. If that doesn't solve it, he said it could be the heater or your motor or possibly wires burned out. I am looking at trying to remove my motor now to see if I can replace it and check that before I pay any money unnecessarily. My repair guy is so busy that he tries to help me over the phone before he comes out. Great Guy. He said that if it is the motor, the charge to replace it is not worth fixing, but if the repair is only 100 to 200, that is definitely cheaper than the cost a the same kind of dishwasher I am planning on purchasing to replace it. They say that because the do not want to work on it. A lot of times they do charge more than it's worth though, so you have to get an estimate concerning your worst possible problem before hand so you can make up your own mind. Hope this helped you. Now I will see if anyone can help me figure out how to remove the motor from my Kenmore Quietguard 4 Dishwasher. Have a great day.

Plastic button on switch was replaced 18 months ago and switch sometimes works and sometimes won't, if you hold the switch in the ''on'' position (depressed with finger) the machine will work, but this is not practical for the 82 minute cycle (and probably quite dangerous). Then without reason it will start to work normally again for a few times before failing again. Have tried to access the switch but printed circuit board can't be removed/opened to gain access.. If the switch is faulty do I have to replace the whole printed circuit board? Actual machine model is AEG Oko Favourit 6081 Dishwasher
