Dell w4201c no picture just bright colored spots

Was this set moved or transported? Is it possible someone struck the screen even if mildly?

If you can take a few good pictures and post them somewhere on the internet and provide the location--seeing what it looks like might tell what is wrong.

A classic description: set comes on but is a black swirling cloud where images can be dimly seen but are not clear--gets a little better after a few minutes but never gets normal.

1) Try moving everything away (Magnitized Problems)
2) Plug in another monitor
3) If it persists, call manufactor
4) Trash it :(

you can get alot of different opinions on here but the best i can do is tell you to call a tv repair service to have them come out and repair the tv instead of trying to do it yourself and possibly making it worse than it allready is. with a repairman you get a guaranteee its fixed on here all you get is guesswork and you dont need that

Red green and blue lines

Most projection TVs have an option to refocus. For example, my Sony rear projection TV has a button on the front for focusing the lamps. Try finding this button or option in the menus with your remote. Projection TVs actually use three lamps, one red, one green and one blue. These need to line up exactly in order to form a good picture, and when they come out of focus, you see the edges which sometimes has the effect of a 3D image when you aren't wearing 3D glasses. Hope this helps!
