SOURCE: CMOS replacement for ASUS d1

It's difficult to say but you will need to remove the underside screws and also maybe even the keyboard as it's often attached to the base. The cmos battery could also be behind the screen. Comment by sandrew, posted on Nov 12, 2006 I'm sorry but I dont have any personal experiences with your particular laptop, but the lcd's are generally held in with 1 screw in each corner normally covered by a rubber bung hiding the screws, I would be very carefull not to disconnect any wires behind the screen, if yor not sure take it to a qualified repairer. You will probably have to remove the top panel just below the hinges as they may be held in underneath

SOURCE: Replace CMOS battery

First you need to take the cover off your laptop and locate the cmos battery which looks like an oversize battery watch. With everything unplugged it just pulls out, note which side of the battery goes however. Place the new one in put everything back together and power the computer up. When it powers up it will finally get to the screen that says press "F1" for setup or "F2" to continue. Press F1 and you will get to your set up screen. You can go through each screen and select F5 which is the default factory settings or scoll across the top to the last screen which will give you the option of resetting all the settings to factory default with just pressing one of the F keys once only. Once you do that, just shutdown your computer and restart and it will start as normal. It may go through the F1 and F2 screen one more time but just press F2 and continue. After you log off the next time all your changes should be good. Let me know if I can help you in any other way.

SOURCE: alienware m9700 running slow and hot

First , are the fan and vents clean? Are there many programs running at the same time? Is there sufficent air flow? You might want to buy a laptop cooler with as many fans as you can get. Do you have CCLEANER found here:http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ OR MALWAREBYTES :http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ If you don't use these programs give them a try they are free. Malwarebytes has many useful tools. That's a good place to start.

Sounds like a Memory issue. It defiantly a conflict somewhere. I would start with the memory. If you have two sticks installed, then remove one. If it does the samething, re install and then remove the other one.

M9700 starts up but shuts down few minutes after vista loads

Sounds like it is a problem with the m9700 overheating. I have just repaired an m9700 with this exact issue and it was resolved by taking the CPU heatblock off, removing the dried/caked-on heat compound, and replacing it with my own (Arctic Silver 5).
Was 91c before, now down to 74c max on load (Measured with coretemp). Random crashing has stopped.

Need a A306 or A307 for my Alienwars M9700

The drivers can be found at; http://aliendl.alienware.com/mobile/m9750/m9750_TV-Tuner_A307_XP_Vista_1.12.0.43.zip And if it's actually getting the card that you're meaning, you can purchase it direct from Alienware (I don't believe they supply them seperately anymore, but they'll happily supply one if you give them a call)
