Re: Cycle problem

Hi you got 2 options here: 1- windows became corrupt in this case reinstalling windows should solve the problem. 2-hard drive failure, use chkdsk or similar utilities to correct any problems if that doesn't solve the problem looks like you gonna have to replace your hard drive but only use this as your last resort hope this helps

Installed win 7 but want restore to xp

To reinstall win XP from usb flash drive you need WIndows XP cd, 1 gb flash drive and Novicorp WinToFlash. Download WinToFlash to your computer and follow instructions to transfer Windows XP from cd to flash drive, After that boot your notebook from usb device and select "TXT Mode Setup Windows XP, Never unplug USB-Drive Until After Logon" then install win xp normally, but format C partition. After first start of your notebook boot again from flash drive in "TXT Mode Setup Windows XP, Never unplug USB-Drive Until After Logon". Now windows is starting, go to start/my computer right click on it and go to properties in this windows go to advanced tab and there go to startup and recovery, click on settings, in new window go to edit tab and in new window change the line "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect" after windows XP write the type of your XP Professional, Home Edition, or Media Center. Now you can remove usb flash drive and boot normally from hdd.

This recycling/rebooting into this screen is normally caused an error (hardware or software).
You MUST turn off - Automatic Restart to see the error message.
Power down your laptop.
Press the power button to turn-on laptop.
Start pressing the F8 key immediately AFTER the DELL logo screen and BEFORE the windows screen.
You SHOULD be brought to the same screen as you described above but with an additional option: TURN-OFF automatic restart. Select this option and press ENTER.
Let laptop cycle and you should see blue background screen with white letters giving you information.

Please provide the ERROR message on screen BEFORE we can advise you any further.

I have an ibm t43 laptop that got fingreprint protected, how do i remove the protection

In Windows, in the settings section of the Fingerprint Control Center, uncheck Replace windows logon with fingerprint protected logon. In the Fingerprint section uncheck the Power-On Security section if the user has fingerprints enrolled there. You do not need to uninstall the software unless you wish to.

Boots to user logon, but when password is entered, it goes no further and won't login, but locks.

It appears that some of the the Windows files are corrupted on your computer, you can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.

NOTE: This will erase all the data on the computer.
