The GoGear only recognizes certain file formats. For music, any file type other than mp3 will give you problems such as the one you are experiencing. For videos, you must use the Philips Media Converter.

Shows no ribbon

When the unit shows No TFR Ribbon in the screen this usually means the spool has come to an end and its time to install a new ribbon set. If you know there is ribbon installed and you are still getting this message it means the sensor has been misaligned and is not reading correctly or the transfer film is jammed or broken. First check the ribbon is neatly wound up on the spool and is not torn then reinstall and check again. If it still shows no tfr you need to have the unit serviced. Never force the cartridges at any time while installing or fixing a jammed spool as this will sometimes move the settings on the sensors.

6085 master reset code

To reset your Nokia 6085 phone, do any of these depending on what you want exactly either to partial formatting or complete formating.
1. To do partial format,
Reset to factory defaults,Dial this code (*#7780#) ,that is Restores settings but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

2. To do a full reset,
type this on your phone(*#7370#) : This re-formats completely the C: drive (phone memory). All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.
To do a Hard reset,
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers!

Do these support .m4a files

According to the website, they appear to support MP4. : ) The ViBE models are the MP4/MP3 models and the RaGa are the more restricted models.

My ipod is showing file system error

Hi

File system error can appear due to unplugging the MP3 player without disconnecting it. It may have happened due to formatting it with a different file format or due to memory issue with the player. Please reformat your MP3/MP4 player. Connect it to the computer, go to My computer-> right click on the mp3/mp4 player after it is displayed-> select format-> Format it as FAT32 File system. Formatting the MP3/MP4 player will delete all the songs/data from the player. So, backup all data before formatting it. Hope this helps...

Try the repair procedure:

Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Press and hold [VOL+] whilst connecting to the PC. Device Manager will show and error with the device.
Follow the on-screen prompts to repair the device.

The constant initializing is a board fault and cannot be repaired unfortunately.

The cost of the board outweighs the value of the player.

If the unit is not under warranty, you can get a replacement player very cheaply from www.cheapestelectrical.co.uk or other models
