Many thanks for this - they were the older cartridges and the supplier has admitted this and is sending replacements.

    Many Thanks for your help.

Try opening the printer properties then selecting Printing Preferences -> Maintenance -> Epson Status Monitor.
This will give you an indication of whether the cartridges have been recognised.
Some of the older T071x cartridges are not compatible - you must get ones specific to to SX200.

Ive changed ink cartridges and still ink light is flashing and not printing

Chances are you are either;
1. using an "expired" ink cartridge. or

2. the Chip on the ink cartridge is erased and will not work.

Many re fillers do not reset the chip after refilling them.

This is Epson's way of saying "I do not like compatible, refilled cartridges...I hope this helps, Happy Holidays...Steve at TakeCharge ReCharge

Why is power light bining green?

The printer is receiving a print job, replacing an ink cartridge, charging ink, or cleaning the print head.

How to reset counter

Waste ink pad typically captures ink waste when the printer cleans itself (print head). Resetting the counter without replacing the absorbent material can cause ink leakage and a profound mess.Epson suggests servicing the printer, but it may be more cost effective to replace it.

Ink light and on/off light flashing

Turn printer off for a few minutes then turn back on. If still flashing your cartridges may not be compatible.

Epson SX200 refuses to recognise compatible cartridges

Hi Howard,

Bottom line, if the printer doesn't accept them, then they are not compatible... I'd recommend returning them for a refund and find a supplier that has tried and tested cartridges.

I'd love to be able to recommend a supplier but as I don't have an SX200 I can't... Others might be able to help if you can indicate where you are in the world as the SX200 is, I believe, zone specific.

Best of luck

Epson sx200 One of the colour inks is empty and no print in black

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.

Change ink cartridge on epson stylus SX200 -printing head moves from side to side but then parks to the R and I cannot get access to change the cartridges.........

The ink cartridges are all separate so you press the cancel button (with no jobs pending) to bring the cartridge holder in to the right place open the holder remove the cartridge and then replace it, let the printer purge the cartridge then your good to go
