Question about Toro Garden
I am trying to install the traction cable for my Toro lawn mower. However, after I take the plastic shield off of the front, revealing the pulley, I am at a standstill. I have hooked up the black detent (what I call it) to the pulley bracket and the spring on the traction cable is left hanging there because I cannot find a spot to hook it up. I flipped the mower over and I still can't find a spot on the tranny. Is it possible that the part to hook it up broke off sometime? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

SOURCE: cable traction needs adjusted
To adjust the self propel cable, loosen the cable
clamp, pull the cable downward to remove all the slack
then push the cable jacket up 1/8”
and secure with the cable clamp

Hi. It's not locked. The piston has siezed up maybe for lack of oil or sitting too long. It is time to retire it. If your son or daughter or grand kids has some mechanical in them. They can tare it apart and fix it. Good luck.
