Re: problem with xp sp2

Hi, don't worry, this will work try this
Search for "Dxdiag.exe" in C:\ search in all hidden files then only u will get results. When u get open it click on yes if message appear.
Then, click on Display Tab u will see a Model No. some thing like this "Intel 945G__ Express Chipset Family" that is your model no.. Now, go to and search for
"your model no. (945__ or 965__ whatever)" u will see some results then, Download drivers which is supported to your board. Download the Audio driver for XP. It will definitely work 100%. Good Luck

Re: problem with xp sp2

Hi there toshiba are only supplying vista drivers for your laptop however there is a way to get the right sound driver you need to find out what model is your sound card the best way to do that is to download a free software called AIDA32 once installed on your laptop it should tell you what model your sound card is then just go on the sound card's manufacturer's website and download the right driver i think yours sounds like realtek. another way of finding out is to go to it scans your laptop and tells you what drivers are up to date and what are not it also tell you which drivers are missing and gives you a link to download the right ones this is not a free service but it's good value for the money i use it all the time never let me down good luck

Want to install xp instead of vista - but end up in caldera dr dos

Alot of the reason is because they don't want you to down grade from Vista to XP. But see if this helps. Start your pc, insert XP disk, as soon as the screen comes up press f12 which will allow you to choose the booting sequence, click CD- ROM and the disk should start to be read. understand this tho by downgrading you will have a hard time finding the appropiate drivers for most of your devises since they were meant to be runned by Vista. Here's a tip go find the drivers in europe (be it toshiba.europe, Dell.europe) for they are still running XP. to find the drivers for your particu;ar pc just find the series number and the last unit to run with xp and viola a working xp on a vista pc. Hope this helped

Good Luck =)

Xp recovery

You need to download all the drivers installer files from manufacturer website first, and also all the software you want to install automatically with Windows. Then you build a Windows Xp boot CD with all the software setup embedded.

Downgrading my laptop from vista to window xp sp2

You can find all the drivers on the net but you'll have to know exactly what type of devices you have. Either you can refer to the invoice that you got when you bought the system of you can physically check by opening the system. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! To know the model no. of the devices I would go to the toshiba site and look for the config. of the system. If you have any service tag no or like that you can put that when you go on toshiba site and it would tell you the detailed config or your laptop you then can either download the drivers from that site for the appropriate OS that you want to install or you go to the device manufacturer's site and download the drivers from there.

Installing windows xp on hp pavilion dv 6516 tx

I'm not sure solution #1 is very explanatory, so....

IF you want to install XP on your computer, Windows XP will load most of the drivers you need automatically.
For the drivers that are specific to your HP pavilion
you will be able to download device drivers from HP website
or, request a driver CD

When XP is installed [assuming you or someone can do that]
you can:
Go to the 'My Computer' icon [right-click]
  • 'Properties'
  • Then Choose 'Hardware'
  • Finally, choose 'Device Manager'
Here you will have a list of all your hardware
If you have any drivers that need to be installed, there should be
a yellow (?) question mark by the name of the hardware

Most devices/hardware will be handled by XP SP2
The default drivers will be loaded automatically
For example, your keyboard:

Above you see the window that opens if I double-click on
the 'Keyboard' icon.

For XP to function, you only have to worry about the ones
with the yellow (?) question mark

Or, if you want to add a specific driver, like a Video or Sound driver, but you don't see a yellow (?) question mark
you can still install/update the driver at the 'driver' tab
[second tab in the picture above]

If you need more specific help I can do that too
