Question about Kodak EasyShare C913 Digital Camera
My Easyshare C913 turns on normaly and all the funtions seem to work properly (mode selector, flash, display, review, delete, menues...) but IT DOES NOT TAKE PICTURES or videos when I press the shutter button as I always did. BUT, if I keep the shutter button pressed while turning the camera on, then it will take 1 or 2 photos. I tried with different sets of batteries and with/without the SD memory card. I also formatted the memory. It does not have a reset option in the menu... It's a Kodak Easyshare C913, firmware version 1.0 How can I solve this problem and take pictures normally again? Thanks in advance for your help...
May be you had placed the card wrong and inside the pin got pressed and only inner memory is getting used which gives less pic. due to less mb inner memory

Testimonial: "Thanks for your answer, but it's not a memory issue (when there`s not enough memory to store a photo, the camera displays a "memory full" error). I tried with and without the SD memory card. I also formatted the built-in memory. I can take pictures if I keep the shutter button pressed while turning the camera on, so I don't think it is a button or contact issue either... Thanks again!"

It sounds like something was corrupted when you transferred your pictures to the computer.
If you have all the pictures safely on your computer, it will be ok to reformat the memory card and then just copy and paste the pictures back to the card.
Insert the card in your card reader, go to My Computer, you should be able to see the card as a removable drive. You can click and open it just like a folder and see what is on the card.
I would also back up the pictures to an external drive or dvd so they are extra safe!

hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes...thank u!!!

If you connected the camera to the computer with a USB cord to download your pics and then just yanked out the cord without using the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right corner of your screen, the card may have been corrupted. Replace it.

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.
