Find the leak first. Auto trannys are normally filled through the dip stick hole that you remove to check the tranny oil Use a small clean funnel.

Transmisson leak

Check all of the hoses and clamps that connect your transmission with the bottom part of your radiator for cooling. The leak has to be there somewhere. Run your hands along the hoses and clamps in search for transmission fluid.

My 2002 Trailblazer is using a LOT of transmission fluid! I am having to put half a quart in a WEEK! Could someone PLEASE help me?? What should I do? I just bought this thing!

Transmissions dont "use" fluid. If you are replacing half a quart a week you have a leak somewhere.. Try tightening the transmission pan bolts. If this doesnt stop the leak you may have a bad pan gasket. There are also two small tubes running from the ****** to the radiator for cooling. One or both may be leaking. Put a liece of cardboatd or wood under your truck to catch drips. This will help you to locate where it is leaking from.

Transmission not shifting right. Winds up then shifts. Pulled over. Trans fluid everywhere. Put more fluid in to see where its leaking. No leaks. Drove it again. Smoking. Trans fluid all over the place...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. The codes are probably thrown for the transmission. You need to find out exactly where it is leaking. I know you have did this already, but you should try it with the car running. Run it a few miles and park it. Keep it running and check it out. Until you know the exact location, there isn't much we can do. Make sure you check the entire transmission housing for cracks or damage. Let me know when you find the leak. Since it is leaking, make sure you keep fluid in it. If you have drove with little or no fluid, you may have transmission issues. Let me know if it has been hard switching gears. Is it automatic or standard?

How do you put transmission fluid in a 2001 Ford Excursion

first read your owners manual so you know exactly what type of transmission fluid and how to read the dipstick. Make sure you know the difference between the oil dipstick and the transmission dipstick. Buy a long narrow funnel at the parts store where you buy the fluid. It will have to fit into the transmission dipstick tube. Add fluid through the transmission dipstick tube. This is not something that must be done often, unless you have a serious leak somewhere. You are at 10 years, if your tranny is slipping, be prepared to get it rebuilt.

94 deville stop driving forward, there was no transmission fluid in the car. I put so in afterwards. Will my transmission be effected from having no fluid

There may or may not be problems with your transmission from being low on fluid. I would look for a leak as the fluid had to go somewhere.

How can i tell if the transmission fluid is low

You may have a dipstick leading to your transmission fluid somewhere in your engine bay.

Alternatively, you'll have to get under the car and look transmission. There will be two plugs. One will be located near the bottom of the transmission (drain plug) and one will be located somewhere up the upper half of the transmission (fill plug). When you open the fill plug, some transmission fluid should leak out. If it does, then it's full. If it doesn't leak out, you'll need to fill it until it does start to leak out and then put the plug back on

Oil leak somewhere abouve the starter.

It could be transmission fluid. This can leak if not sealed off and they smell similar. If you can get some of that leak on the ground and a good amount, put water onto it. If it turns pink it's transmission fluid. If it stays black the oil line may run under there somewhere. Don't really know about them German cars.
