Wireless Internet is a convenient way to hook up multiple computers to one router without the mess of cords.
The router or 2-in-one (router/modem combo), must be set up through your Internet Service
Provider and connected with either a DSL line or Cable.
Since most Acer laptops have built-in wireless, no additional hardware is required.

Turn on the laptop.
Move the switch located on the front of the laptop to the right, then let go.
The switch will go back to its original position.

Confirm that the wireless networking icon has appeared on the screen.
Right-click the wireless icon in the bottom right corner.
In Windows 7 this will resemble a small stair-step triangle;
In Vista it looks like a tiny monitor.

Click "View available wireless networks."
It might also say "Open network and sharing center."

Wait while the adapter finds your wireless network.
Click to highlight the network and click the "Connect" button.

Enter the security password that you created when setting up the router (if applicable).
If you don't know or can't remember, log in to the gateway page specified in the user's guide. Locate the "Wireless security" settings page to see if security is enabled.

If it is, type in a new key and enter the same number for the wireless network.

Freind,
You should have a look on manual, if you don't have just goto the manufacturer's site and download a manual for your product.
I think it will help you in a better ways.

Hello Cabage344,

Easiest way is to connect the pS3 to your wireless network.
If you don't have a wireless network, connect a ethernet cable from your PS3 LAN port (on the back of the PS3) to one of the numbered LAN ports on your router.

Thanks,

Pat

Please test the WiFi with a laptop or netbook, if Internet works with it, maybe you have bad settings into the wireless adapter, you could use the PC wireless connection parameters (SSID, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS) as reference with the data obtained with the TV wireless adapter, the only difference must be the IP address, the rest must be the same since they're using the same network.

Please explain to me what wires (colors) go to computer? starting from scrath what goes where to have WIFI in my home. please help me. Thanks with all of my heart!

Hello,
the easiest way to configure the router is to connect it directly to your computer with the Ethernet cable.
Inside the router box, you also had a CD that will guide you step by step for the initial process.
Once completed, you can log on to the administration page and there you can activate the wireless capabilities and enable the different security options for it. Make sure it is set to broadcast the SSID so you can easily see it with your different wireless clients (computer, game consoles, etc)
Come back to me if you get stuck on one step and give as much details as possible so I can help you accordingly.

Router not working, help please!

You may may need to configure your D-Link to use your type of internet! Try following the Quick Install Guide which can be found here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di524/Manual/DI-524_manual_06292005.zip The WLAN light doesn't come on probably because you have the wireless disabled, which can be re-enabled once in the configuration for the wireless(in the document mentioned above) If you are having any difficulty following the guide or have folloed the guid and still can't connect, please get back to me regards, babb
