hello there is a key combo in windows u could try windows key and x to bring up windows mobilty center there is a connection tab for wireless there works with windows 7 but not windows 8 on
thanks
There may be a switch on the side of the laptop that turns the wireless on and off. Also try pressing and holding the fn key and pressing and releasing f1 or f2. The water spill may have killed the wireless card also. If you still can't get it working, then purchase an inexpensive usb wireless adapter. This will plug into an available usb port and will give you wireles capabilities. You will need to replace the keyboard as well as it was obviously damaged by the spill. Check on ebay, or contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
Hello and thank you for using Fixya .. I understood that your laptop do not have a wireless capability , and you wish to have this feature ...The easiest way for to do this job is to install a wireless card ..or to buy and use a USB one ..There are a lot of usb based wireless cards..and they work just fine ..It will be needed to install the driver for it ..cause windows has no drivers build in for them ...but usually the wireless cards (usb ) came with a disk with the driver ..or the driver is available on the manufacturer's support site .. After installing such a card (looks like a USB memory stick ) it will behave just like one built into the laptop ..and the only limitations will be those imposed by the card's performances .. Have a nice day ..!
Easiest solution first: Unplug the router for 1 minute and plug it back in. See if it works.
Second solution: Log into the router via the built in ethernet switch and see if the wireless capability got switched off by itself (Rare, but it happens). Switch the wireless capability back on.
(BTW, is that the only light that does not light up?)
Hello,
the easiest way to configure the router is to connect it directly to your computer with the Ethernet cable.
Inside the router box, you also had a CD that will guide you step by step for the initial process.
Once completed, you can log on to the administration page and there you can activate the wireless capabilities and enable the different security options for it. Make sure it is set to broadcast the SSID so you can easily see it with your different wireless clients (computer, game consoles, etc)
Come back to me if you get stuck on one step and give as much details as possible so I can help you accordingly.
