SOURCE: Blade replacement

the lever on the clippers locates into the cutter of the clipper blade its only a matter of lining the lever up with the slot in the top blade which you can slide from side to side by hand. Please keep in mind wear on this plastic Drive Lever may lead to cutting problems.

SOURCE: HC900 really. I'm trying to reassemble the blades,

You have something in the wrong place. The blades should lay against each other.

SOURCE: can't put on a new blade

start the clippers then slide the blade onto the tongue of the hinge assembly , now push the blade into the clipper don't be afraid sometimes they can be tight from new,
Just make sure the two screws either side of the hinge are tight.

I have a workzone 120w scroll saw. a blade broke and it developed a loud knocking sound , like metal striking as motor rotates

If you can feel the knocking as well as hear it, it should be taken apart and examined, but before you do that it would be wise to cover the obvious things - like a part of the broken blade being stuck in the external mechanism, the new blade not being identical to the original or one of the fixing screws not going fully home...

You might find it helpful to listen to the knocking through a rod or a piece of hose if a stethoscope isn't available to discover more precisely the area it originates.

Check the manufacturer's website for authorized tool repair shops in your area. They can either do it for you or order the part. If not check the Yellow Pages for tool repair shops or specialty tool stores, not your typical warehouse store though.

How do I remove a broken blade on a reciprocating saw? The blade broke off at the place where it attaches to the body. Unlocking the blade by the usual means doesn't free the small piece remaining in...

Sometimes if you take the set screw completely out and then use a flat blade small screw driver to wege open the throat you can use a dental pick to get it out. Spray it first with wd40.

Hope you weren't using those cheap blades from harbor freight - that is how I learned that trick - bought the dental picks from harbor freight.

I have an Andis outliner II I purchased a year ago. I recently changed the blade but it won't cut my hair. Do you kow why?

Sometimes the new blades from Andis are not sharpen enough to get that clean cut. also all trimmers need to be readjusted for power and alignment, plus sharpening the blade, it look like you need a complete sharpen & service on your Andis trimmer. check out Manny's Sharpening they have a Mail Order service, the service they provide is fast and they will sharpen make all the adjustment and give your trimmer more power and the blade will cut clean. They will even adjust the blade at your request on how you want that blade to be set at. Line Ups or Fade Cuts and even shave set. Manny's Sharpening been around for over 20 years and they have a very good rating on the net. Check it out Manny's Sharpening

This is an inquiry about Waring food processor model FP510; SN# 11FP10. I need a new driver (the thing with a hex head that fits over the axle or drive shaft (one side of the axle is flat) of the electric...

I broke mine too, but luckily I found an extra machine at a thrift store. The driver was missing (of course), but I cut the blades off (hacksaw, easy) and used the resulting shaft as a driver. It works well: better and tougher than the original! Though they are expensive, you can order a new set of blades and do the same thing with the blades you have now. -Paul

My blade broke off in the lock of my craftman scrolling sabre saw and I can't get the part that is left inside out. Therefore I cannot put a new blade in. Is there a way to fix this?

Take off the clamp that holds the blade in place. Use a good degreaser (Electronics quality is best, it leaves no residue) and spray it into the blade holder. Next, blow it out with compressed air. The blade should be easily "bumped" out now. Oils & dust residue will hold the stub in, until you clean it out.

Boot on the saw.

You are probably wanting to repair/replace the blade holding assembly. The boot does come off with persistence. You will have to remove the foot piece first (two screws). Try using long thin screwdrivers as shoe horns and be persistent. I agree that it is a poor design. Why the new improved blade lock assembly I'll never know. The nib breaks off that fits into the hole in the blade and then there is nothing to hold the blade. If all else fails to get the boot off you can cut it and order another boot. Remarkably, the boot isn't that expense. Unless you feel you can make a replacement pin you'll have to order the entire blade lock assembly and it cost about $20. I had the reciprocating saw for a tear before I used it and the holder broke on it first outing! Being loyal to Craftsman in the past, I hate to admit that these days many of the power tools are cheaply made Chinese junk. My advice, don't spend much to repair, cut your losses and buy DeWalt, Skill, etc. Hope this helps.
