Question about Computers & Internet
I replaced a laptop screen with a new one and everytime it comes on, the screen comes up white. I have connected my laptop to external monitors even connected to to 50in. HDTV and it works. But with the new screen (the second one I might add. I turn it on and the white screen comes on. The original screen was messed up but you can see the Windows7 background but nothing else. Any suggestions?
Inverter, backlighting, the switch that controls the on/off of the display when the Lid is open or closed. Did you replace the screens? Take a look at this video, it may help you troubleshoot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yi6GNFcP3w

SOURCE: screen is white, no picture
I just fixed this problem on my Toshiba Satellite. I had to take the screen apart. There are 4 scews on the corners that remove the front tim. (sometimes they are covered by rubber bumpers)
This will usually expose more screws to remove the back of the LCD screen. Follow the ribbon cable up the back of the screen to where it plugs in to a circuit board.
The problem for my laptop was the cable had come un-seated from the circuit board. I push it back in and the display worked.
Note... the cable did not look un-plugged;
becareful not to touch the top of the display where all the wires from the circuit connect to the LCD display;
You may want to add some tape to the cable to keep it in place. There was some there but it was working well.

SOURCE: Laptop Screen faded white
There are a couple of possibilities.
1. A cable has come loose inside the computer.
2. A cable has become defective.
3. The LCD is defective.
If you wiggle the LCD back and forth and you can get the picture to work again intermittently then answers 1 & 2 above would be more likely.

i have solve the problem for my hp nx7300. mine used to show everything that should be shown on the screen but had the screen placed in a Conner so small. i solved this by uninstalling the monitor and unknown device drivers. i have then installed the unknown device as a blue-tooth adapter to avoid this problem recurring. hope this sorts out some people's problem. the other half screen with half completely not shown has to do with the cable connecting the monitor and the CPU. remember solving this for my friend by cleaning the connection port.
