DEH-P4600MP loses XM channels when car is turned off
I've had this problem for a few months now. I have XM radio and thoroughly enjoy using it. However, now whenever I turn the car off, and start it back up, the XM loses all the preset channels, and I can only receive channel 1. Whenever I select a new channel, i get a message that says 'updating' and it never finishes. Just to test it out, I updated XM and after I received all the channels, turned the car off. All the updated channels were gone, and I was back where I had started.
I need to know what to do. Is it a problem with the head unit, or with XM, or with something else?

I had the same issue. I called XM multiple time to have the signal resent. I told them I was receiving the preview channels and nothing else. I asked them multiple times if it could be hardware issue and they said no. I took it to the dealer and they ran a test ($98) and determined that the unit had failed. They didn't charge me for the $800 unit, but they did charge me $300 for the installation. Its working fine now.
Does the unit have a built in xm decoder or are you using a separate (external) decoder?
If its external i would make sure that all the fuses are fine and that the power is getting right to where it plugs into the module.
Let me know of any other symptoms if you can.
