Question about Toshiba 53H71 53 in. Rear Projection Television

Blue arc There is a blue arc at the bottom of the screen that also creates a shadow. What causes this and can I fix it?

There are 2 large convergence IC's and the one that handles Blue Vertical (BV) has burned out and needs to be replaced. This is by far the most common failure in those projection sets. It is a good idea to go ahead and replace both STK392-110 IC's with the newer improved STK392-150's. If you have never replaced convergence IC's and realigned convergence circuits then have a qualified tech handle it for you.

My mitsubshi vs 50609 has blue shadows how can this be fixed

you might need to adjust Blue drive on screen control to Blue have a focus and screen control box 3on top 3 on bottom of it 3 on top adjust focus to each tube R/G/B and 3 on bottom adjust screen drives.

Picture has a blue shadow

Seems convergence out IC is fried in TV so it gives blue shadow.

Check out Convergence Out IC which you need to replace in TV, if you have enough experience of repair of big TV, necessary tools and know basic electronics.

Usually this means convergence ic's have to be replaced and possibly a few resistors on small convergence board. Sometimes it requires digital alignment after new parts are soldered in. This repair can cost 175.00-375.00.

Hitachi53SDX89B color problem

Blue convergence IC bad...have both IC's changed..insist on
STK394-160E upgrade part # CZ 01341 Hitachi brand.....Original part is STK392-110......Also, check B+ feed resistors next to
convergence amp IC's for burn / damage...after rebuild, press magic focus.......................T.

Toshiba 50H82 blue arcing?

color shadows on numbers or letters indicate a possible convergence problem.. might be a crt deflection problem.
