Misty white bands down the side of scan bed

Hi, on my Scanmaker 9800XL after changing the lamp and inverter I have white bands down the left side of the scan bed !

Could this be dirt on one of the mirrors or a problem with the CCD or processor ?

About 2cm along the left side the scan is blurred and about 4cm from the left side I get white misty light over the scan.

The old inverter had melted burnt components on it. I wonder if this could have damaged other components of the scanner other than the lamp ?

That's a possibility
If you were able to get these parts maybe the Microtek Technical support has some answers
