Taking apart gas dryer GE VT850607c

Hello Molly McKellar,

VT850607c... ("model number" No good).

Try watching this instead...

Your model number did NOT resolve to any GE dryer in MY reality (cyber-wisdom)... However I remain confident of my life-long ability to take things APART...

Putting them back together again... Now there's the rub.
(if you takes pictures as you DIS-MANTLE... You'll be OK).
((Lots of pictures)).

Your basic dryers break down into 2 basic groups
(NO... Gas & Electric are amazingly similar)...

It is controls forward... (Like: GFDN160GJWW)
or controls on the back-edge (classic style)).
((against the wall, such as DBXR463PG4ww)

Since the BELT or DRUM ROLLERS about a deep as ONE can get... into (inside) the case... Go to one of the Parts "LINKS"
I will post below...

look up the "PART" & watch the VIDEO associated...

If you do start opening CONNECTORS (repeating again)...

Take pictures and look them over for USEABLE detail in
case yo get interrupted during your dismantle...

BEFORE YOU GET into trouble.

You will know EXACTLY where every wire & clip is supposed to go (back).

Good luck & happy hunting!!

Ge adora dryer model dhdvh52ef0ww runs for about 5 minutes then cuts off

Inside the back and the bottom of your dryer are several ( From 2 to 6 ) "overheat thermostat switches".
One of these is doing it's job really well.
These are designed to prevent your dryer from overheating and catching fire.
I suspect one of them is failing, and needs replacement.
Someone handy with electrical testing tools and mechanic's tools need to take it apart and check these to find the "bad" one.
While they have it all apart, it should need a really good cleaning inside.
Be blessed.

Hello
You will need to replace the dryer belt and inspect the belt rollers while you have it apart. If you go to the web link below it explains how to take apart the dryer to replace the belt, it has additional links to pictures and diagrams within the instructions. The first link is for replacement parts with diagrams of the dryer. Here is that link:

Where can I find a service manual to install a new motor kit for my G.E. Dryer DPSR405EAOWW?

Hey 43bucko, really, the best thing to do and the easiest is, when you get your dryer taken apart, draw or write down where the wires go on the motor connections, like terminal one - blue, terminal two - red (just an example). Thats what I did and worked out just fine. If you need to know how to take the dryer apart, just let me know, and ill be glad to guide you along.
